Dr Mahinda, Thank you for the comprehensive and informative presentation. This is the first-ever academic intervention I came across regarding the debate over the birthplace of the Buddha. You have accumulated your evidence from reliable sources and established your premise with a solid footing. I hope the divide being opened within the Buddhist community in Sri Lanka will disappear thanks to your very commendable effort. I am proud of you as a long-associated colleague. Keep it up. Cheers!!!

@@user-mw9rc9yp9h Mahanama is not Tamil, is born in Sri Lanka. Please dont make unfounded allegations.
The main sources Dr Mahinda has used are Fa Hien and Hyun Sian. We have never rejected the claims those great monks made in the 4th and 7th Centuries AD. My concern is not about where the Buddha was born but the rift happening within the Buddhist community. If you have more reliable sources, please produce a presentation as the one Dr Mahinda did, and you will receive the same commendation. Good luck!
😂 The kusha (Sanskrit: कुश) grass, the darbha (Sanskrit: दर्भ) grass and the pavitram (Sanskrit: पवित्रम्), are the Sanskrit terms for Desmostachya bipinnata grass. This grass is of literary and ritual significance in Hinduism
