Very nice indeed. Love what you've done with it. Years ago I had a Westbury Standard that had Dimarzio SD in it, always liked them.

That's another cool guitar dunsy, with the dimarzio super distortion in the bridge, it just screams rocking machine at me. thanks for posting.

Yeah, most definitely a Rocker now! Thanks a lot for checking it out, much appreciated.

If memory serves me correctly, I originally found your channel while researching the HB DC Specials and you were doing a comparison between one of them and this one (?). I've always wanted one of these, but I've resigned myself to no more P90'S. This is a game changer. With the routing accommodating humbuckers, I will be searching. As always, great playing and great info, sir. Cheers!
@DunsysGuitarWorldАй бұрын
Definitely a great call having enough room for a couple of humbuckers in there - not sure why they did it this way (but I’m glad that they did!). Maybe just the way they had the jigs set up on the production line for other guitars? £27 for a new pickguard and that the only work needed. Although you have to enlarge the hole for the pickup on the guitar a bit.

Nice! The super distortion is a great pickup. The blue and cream look great. Sounded fantastic too.

Yeah, I have a couple of guitars with that pickup in the bridge position, always sounds good. And I thought the cream was a definite improvement over the black plastics - looks cool!
@Murphy_R9Ай бұрын
He should have went black for the P90 so the cream dimarzio' stood out even more giving it a more Hot rodded look🤘

Great sounding junior! I thought you got close to the 'rebel, rebel' tone when you first demoed the middle position. Hope you gig it plenty!

The pickups work really well together, glad I went ahead and changed the bridge one out - the P90 was good, but I just felt I needed something a bit more powerful for The Rock!

Smashing guitar, Dunsy. I’m fond of a widdle, myself! 😅. Mrs B has recently approved and signed off on some Guitar Vouchers. So, being lucky enough to live within striking distance of the London Gibson Guitar Garage I’ll head in before or after Christmas to get my hands on something similar. Yours looks and sounds great.

Always really did like the guitar - remember seeing your original video - the P90 / humbucker bridge is a great combo. Tom Scholz was on to something there. Don’t know if he was the first big name to do that but his Les Paul was the first time I saw it 👍 Ps - love the blues jam! 🎸👏🙂
@DunsysGuitarWorldАй бұрын
Yeah, I like the power from the SD and a bit more smoothness from the P90. Covers lots of bases/bass's. Is that the correct use of a comma there? I highly doubt it!
@darrenedwards9562Ай бұрын
I like to see Gibson or Epiphone do these in a solid gloss body and different pickup options. The Super Distortion sounds great BTW- I've never had one, but like the idea of slapping one into an Epiphone Les Paul bridge.
@DunsysGuitarWorldАй бұрын
Really nice guitars for the money - nothing fancy, just a bare bones rocker. Definitely worth checking out the Super Distortion, I've always liked them.

DiMarzio SD in the bridge, solid mahogany body and fixed neck. What's not to like at that price. Nice colour as well to be fair. 👍

Yeah, with the discount for being the end of line, I thought it was pretty good value.

Love Dunsy's accent when he says "Gibson 'deluxe' tuners". As a Yank I'd say "dee-lucks". Dunsy says "dollocks". I want to become a Scotsman.

Did you have the wah engaged in the blues play through? Santana tone in the middle position and a Brian Robertson, Jonny the fox era tone on the SD.

I think it was a treble booster in front of the Fender Champ - definitely had a bit of “honk” in it. I use that profile a lot on the Kemper.
