The anticipation, the relish, the sheer malice...Angelus was capital "E" evil. That smile at Buffy's horror and guilt is brilliant acting

Most chilling scene in the series, IMO.

The great thing about that scene is that you don't really hear the dialog, it's just Buffy and Willow's physical reactions to the news but it's very powerful.

One of my all time favourite Buffy scenes. The look on Willow's face is heartbreaking.

Willows reaction got me to tears big time, what made it worse was It amused Angelus seeing Willows reaction, omg that evil smirk across his face he loved every moment of it.

I came to this show long after it aired and had heard great things. Season 1 was meh but I had heard it really improved in season 2 so I kept watching. This was 100% the episode where I realized how shocking and good this show could be.

Apparently, Jenny was Willow's first crush. Joss Whedon said that in an interview. Wich wouldn't be surprising, we all had that one teacher we kinda loved to look at. Jenny was important in the show, even if many people are debating that. Her death was used to show how evil Angel was, it was the first ''big death'' of the show and it had a deep impact on many people. Giles, Willow and Buffy, for the most part.

Angelus, not Angel. Huge difference. Angel is a hero, and Angelus is one of the most evil characters I’ve ever seen(which is saying something)

This was such a great episode. Even if you just take it away and isolate it from the rest of the series and show it to somebody who has never seen buffy before, they'll still appreciate it. I know I did, because this episode made me watch the series back then.

Another one to appreciate even if you don't watch the series is The Body. It's real...

@@krisstinawilson4461 Yea that's legitimately one of the most devastating but best episodes in TV history. I can't say I've ever had anyone that close to me die, but man does it feel like the most accurate portrayal of death as any TV episode I've ever seen.
@krisstinawilson44614 жыл бұрын
@@joefriedman9843 You can't watch it without crying and eating an entire pint of ice cream after, at least I can't, but it is a really good episode. The first time I ever saw the episode I haven't had anyone close to me die and I thought that it was great but now that I have lost people the episode comforts me when I watch it because it's real and repectful.

@@krisstinawilson4461 I hate to report that my father died of cancer since I posted this comment. It wasn't as shocking as her mom's death in the show, but he had hung in for awhile and when he declined it happened really fast. I definitely have further appreciation for the episode now...

@@joefriedman9843 I hate to report that my mother just died recently. Last month actually. My mother's death was even more sudden then Joyce because Joyce had been sick and had surgery and then died but my mother was just fine one moment and gone the next. Watching The Body episode will never be the same again because I now know what Buffy and Joss felt.

My friends all thought (and still think) Buffy is a ridiculous YA TV show. We're nutty horror freaks, takes a lot to draw us in. But THIS was where, in the beginning, I realised how fucking great the show was becoming. I think it was around here my obsession with the show started.

I've always wondered what exactly it was that Willow said to Joyce...it sounded a little like, "Angel...he killed Miss Calendar...", but that would certainly make Joyce freak out; most likely they said it was a gang on PCP or something along those lines...pretty sure Snyder would have gone with that had Angelus left the body in the school.

I love this show to death but the thing that bugs me about it is that i domt think Buffy would take a call so warmly from Giles. I doubt they had much phone contact before hand so Buffy must have known it was bad news or arriving of bad news. Especially with an angel out and about all evil
