A thing of beauty is a joy forever, and that is a beautiful dash. Imagine looking at that sea of quilted wood every time you sit in a car you built. Stunning.

How in the world could anybody thumbs down this video! I'm not a car builder, I'm a model airplane builder, and I'm so impressed with the attention to details that these pros attend to! Love watching your vids Chad and Jolene. Question for Jolene, when ads pop up during the video, does it benefit your channel financially if I actually watch them completely rather than skipping them? I would watch every boring ad all the way through, if it helped you guys financially!

It’s cool to see fine Canadian artisans , that have learned so well , certain processes of automotive design. Wood in cars is much more than we think . It’s too expensive to have real wood , so it’s designed in plastic wood grain. Thanks for letting us look in . Great camera work, that’s one the best things about Chad’s videos 🇨🇦❤️🇨🇦

Working late these days and missed the live chat. Great field trip. I looked forward to the visit to the woodshop and it did not disappoint. The finish looks great. The interior will certainty elevate an already great build. This gentleman is exceptional and his explanations were great. Hit the like button and share. The channel will be at 100K before we know it. Chad and Jolene deserve it. Love it.

I guys, really great stuff you do. I have built customs for 50 years. Attaching the wood trims I have always used small very powerful magnets let into the back side of the wood. This is a nice way to not mar the beautiful wood surface. None have ever fallen off.

Jolene and Chad....you might want to consider having your wooden steering wheel sanded and then stained to match the finish color of your dashboard....give it to this wonderful wood guy. I always try and get my wooden steering wheels color to match (via staining) the dashboard, otherwise they stick out like a sore thumb. Its a common issue because the wooden steering wheels are often a different wood to the wood used on the dash and invariably made by a different person to the dash......so the best you can do is to stain the steering wheel to match the dash as close as possible. I base these comments on lots of experience with RR and Bentleys. Keep up the great work. Love the "Jo-gatti"

Though Homer Formby's formula was the best I've ever used, minwax apparently bought his product after he passed, no sure if they changed the mix, it's a tung oil, fast to apply, I put 14 coats on a 100 year old dining room table, the gloss was super high, really beautiful, non toxic, work in the room after application, no smell. Love this episode Chud, an Jolene, fans would love to see you in Chads videos, at least to say goodbye, Love you people, true Canadians.

Very good, The man seems to know his stuff about wood working. Which also helps his farther was doing this too. That helps a lot to learn from someone close to you. They have the knowledge for the way things that work and the things that don't, because they have already done it before. You will have a beautiful interior when he is done with the wood and your knowledge also working together.Ronnie.(Also I would like to know where he gets his veneer from?)

Hey Chad you might consider having your wood man glue magnets into all that trim instead of so many screws through the face. Bond round magnets,into adjacent parts of the body where they will draw to each other. This allows all wood to be removed easily for refinishing and replacing any panels that shrink or split.

In the Walnut tree orchard for the car manufacturers the farmers would bash the trees to give the wood more Marks. The more it had the more expensive it was. In trees you get natural ground shake which gives the wood its knots and veins etc. You have to remember that wood is a living organism. It will keep moving for ever and a day.

When the veneer gets wet and buckles then you get buckling and warping, that is called veneerial disease. I was at an auction sale when the auctioneer was selling a water damaged piece of furniture he told the crowd that it had veneerial disease. Many different reactions from the crowd, but he got their attention.
@rickbullock43314 жыл бұрын
Enzo Ferrari said the XKE was the most beautiful car in the world. That says a lot about that design. Those cars were rated at 265 h.p. and would do 150 m.p.h. in the early 60’s from an in-line 6 cylinder engine. That guy does impressive wood working.👍👍

For the doors if he bevels his template and spaces it for the width of the material he can build it up in a set box to keep it flat and allow him to strap clamp it.
