I really felt a sense of relief 😅 when you demonstrated that not all capsule wardrobes are created equal but should be tailored to your personal style. My style is predominantly classic and minimal but there are elements and accessories that can fall into trendy, androgynous, edgy, vintage, and even bohemian style. These are pieces that I love and wear in a predominantly classic elegant style. I’m glad I didn’t throw everything out and start from scratch with someone else’s capsule list. The capsule wardrobe guidelines are great for identifying pieces or basics that might be missing from my wardrobe that I will then purchase in my style, which is simply what I love and what makes me feel great. Thank you for an in depth video with examples of precisely that. 😊

I like that you encourage people to customize and personalize their capsule wardrobe - there are so many lookalike capsule wardrobe videos - too many to count - and as you point out, one capsule wardrobe doesn't fit all!

The hair can also be classic, boho, etc. Alexa Chung's middle parting reminds me of growing up in the 70s in Italy, every girl had it. Middle parting is very popular now among young girls who wouldn't be seen dead with a side parting, but I remember it the first time round and it really says vintage to me.

I'm really loving this series! I've been confused about my style type. Now I see that I have been trying to mix a couple of styles LOL Plus I wasn't really sure what the names of all the types meant. I had already eliminated some such as boho and edgy. Also what's so tough is that what I love in my heart doesn't look good on my body. That makes shopping a challenge because you constantly have to say no to the things you like and choose what actually flatters you. Every once in a while, a piece will be both. But that's rare with unusual proportions such as large chest, short waist, Long legs, wide hips, and slender limbs LOL.

How do you transition "classic" (which feels formal to me) into a more casual style as I am semi retired but feel my best in classic pieces that don't feel like they fit my lifestyle. Also suggest how to style a large bust with tiny shoulders?

Unfortunately, I can't afford my style. I have really nice older clothes and try to piece that together with things from H&M, Walmart and thrift stores. It is a challenge. I also live in the middle of nowhere, so 95% of my shopping is done on-line. I do buy better pieces when I can.

I grew up with very little and it wasn't until my 30's that I could afford nicer clothing. But, I loved going to consignment shops. I think that's how I learned to look for quality. It is a challenge though.

You can find good quality brands on websites like Mercari, Poshmark, depop, vinted, and thred up, for a similar price to what you’d pay at H&M. I’ve managed to get brands like allsaints, rag and bone, Alexander McQueen, and Dr Marten’s really inexpensively. I’m not sure if you have Ross, Marshall’s, or TJ Maxx near you, but I regularly find Michael Kors, Lucky Brand, and other nice brands at those stores at an affordable price point.

I like the romantic style, but i love red, royal blue, hunter green, burgundy and black! Which arent really romantic colors. I also like classic lines, but luxury fabrics! If i could afford it my whole wardrobe would be silks, satins, cashmere and velvet.
