Nice round up of your gym. I agree there are some bargains if you are patient for the desired item to be on sale and limit how far you will travel.

Hey Barry, nice homegym and good usage of the space. With only 9 m2 I even got less space to work with and needed a lot of finetuning over the years. I just made a video, have a look if you will.

Good video 100% agree let’s face it what can go wrong with plates & bars and if you give up training you can sell it all and get some if not all your money back

I'd love a setup like that, mine is currently a half rack in the kitchen. It works for now.

I agree that a half rack is out of the question, so the safest approach is probably bespoke mobile spotters. It could be fabricated, or anything solid to take the fall on the bar or plates. I think those stands are rated at about 125kg and the spotters work on a pin, which will (probably) never be maintained or replaced in the lifetime of the stand.

My new stands are rated to 240kg. Seem to flimsy for that though.

Sadly here in Portugal second hand is more expensive than buying new 🤣🤣

No way!

then buy new and sell it , you will make a fortune
@joseguedes2548Ай бұрын
I mean you're free to ask the price but I really don't see anyone buying for €1000 something that costs €800 with free shipping in a store lmao (unless they're dumb) for example it's cheaper for me buying NEW iron cast Olympic plates from Germany and Holland than buying them used in my city and yes im including the shipping price is a fucking joke and a bad one

Have you made friends with the “spare bench in the corner” or is it still not feeling right?
@barrythomsonliftsАй бұрын
Tried it out the other day again. Feels too wide but will give it a run out again.

700 kilos in plates? You sure ,that's 35x 20s
@barrythomsonliftsАй бұрын
Yer I think its closer to 500kg in plates. Got more free weights in dumbbells and Kettlebells and fixed barbells too

You’re not really showing the whole of the garage much in the video. The camera shows you talking more than what you’re trying to show us. Very frustrating so just thought I’d feedback.

Have a look a full gym tour i posted a few weeks back. You get full round tour on that

@@barrythomsonlifts Ok thanks. What do you do for heating when it’s cold? Have you thought about getting the walls and ceiling insulated?
