@@MarkZabel you should make a new video about this(and give my name credit also 😉) Now The process, :- 1. Download Microphone Pro App:- 2. Buy a 3.5mm male to 2 female 3.55mm splitter adapter for separating Mic and Headphone. 3. Buy a 6.35mm male to 3.5mm female converter jack(₹150-200 or $3-4) 4. Connect your guitar using the 6.35mm converter and aux cable to the 3.55 Mic jack of the splitter. 7. Now all connections are done. Now open the Microphone pro app. Set sample rate to 48000hz and frame rate=240 or 480 etc. 8. Use headphone or speaker whatever you wish by connecting to the splitter. Now Enjoy live Guitar or any other 6.35mm instrument. No need to buy any amplifier or Usb Sound card. Your Phone is your amplifier.

Cool solution Mark! Another solution is to purchase a Vox amPlug. It is basically a headphone amp, but would work well in this scenario. Just connect your headphones, or a cable from the amPlug to your speaker. The benefit to the Android software is that you may have quicker access to more effects.
@MarkZabel
@MarkZabel 6 жыл бұрын
Hey Bob! Thanks for the comment. Yes, the Vox Amplug is a great travel amp. I did another video on travel amps and I mentioned that it (the Vox Amplug) is the device I use when traveling by plane. By car I usually use the Blackstar Fly 3. But, as you mention, if you're a DIY guy or a pedal guy, this is a fun thing to do. As an FYI, I also have a Behringer guitar interface (a recent gift), and swapping that in for the cheap soundcard eliminates almost all of the noise. It's actually really nice. I think it costs around $40. There are knock-offs, but I don't know if they're any good. The phone/pad/computer solutions are going to keep getting better.
@donlewis3162
@donlewis3162 6 жыл бұрын
Another great way to do this is to simply use a headphone amp and auxiliary cable to the speaker. Search Vox headphone amplifiers on Amazon & pick the one that best suits your style. This works surprisingly well if you have a decent quality speaker. This way you only have one cable to deal with, and no latency (at least not that I can tell).
@MarkZabel
@MarkZabel 6 жыл бұрын
Yes. This video is really for either DIY guys, Pedal guys, and people getting acclimated to what's surely coming - live emulation with virtual amps. I've seen a few brave people using a rig like this live (of course not with the cheap sound card). Latency is quite minimal and the noise is greatly reduced by using an actual guitar interface (like Behringer). I did another video on travel amp options and included the Vox Amplug. I have one and that's what I use when traveling by plane. Very easy. The only thing I don't like about the Amplug is the clean sound. A tiny amp like the Blackstar Fly is also a great, simple option for travel.

Thanx Mark, this is very interesting. I used to be a guitar player, sorta twnty years ago and I was thinking to introduce my 9 y.o. son to the instrument without the need to connect my noisy CRATE amplifier... This could be a nice and cheap solution. I did not even know that you can buy a sound card that looks like an USB memory key... Gosh, I'm getting older... Thanks.
@MarkZabel
@MarkZabel 4 жыл бұрын
The sounds card method may be very noisy, so keep that in mind. Another option is a small solid state practice amp. BlackStar ID series is good. They don't sounds like the crappy small solid state amps we had. Plus, a few on board effects are nice. They run about $130 new. But this works, and you may have most of these things around the house.

You can record the video but you have to be in a quiet place.Aftwards it's saved and you can slow that down and actually put it into a video editor and repeat the hard parts. I've been using it for awhile .. I did a gospel walk-up in it and that was before all these updates. Btw it picks up the soundsndhave no latency problems so far

@MarkZabel
@MarkZabel 6 жыл бұрын
Sure thing. I don't know though. I've used the Marshall micro stack before - it's fun. If you're going the micro amp route I would go with the Blackstar fly. True, there's no belt buckle, but the sound is much better IMHO. It will run you $60 or so. Lots of demos on KZbin and several comparisons. All the micro amps are kind of thin sounding if you ask me. But they're great for travel and tooling around the house, bothering the kids and such! :) The iPad/mobile phone method is a whole different animal. The sound is largely dependent upon the speakers you hook up. Whether it makes sense to you mostly depends on how much into pedals you are. If you're into pedals and amp/cab models (which I'm not really), the options are pretty amazing and cheap. I've heard some people gig with them, though I personally think that's pushing it a bit far.

I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with that phone. If it's USB-OTG compatible it should work with Deplike. If it's not, you'll have to search. I don't know another app that would work, but I'm sure with a search ... or by simply trying a bunch of them ... you may find one. Don't be surprised though if you have a huge amount of latency. Best of luck!

Does this setup work with the amplitube UA for android or just works for the deplike andrig app?
@MarkZabel
@MarkZabel 6 жыл бұрын
Sadly, it does not. (I couldn't get it to work in any case) For that to work you will need a guitar interface instead of the typical sound card. The only interface I'm fairly sure will work is the iRig UA. This is built for Android devices to use the USB/OTG method. The original iRig and similar devices used the headphone jack. That works well with Apple products, but it's horrible with Android if it works at all. (Except I've heard that Samsung products work okay in this regard.) I tried it and the latency was so bad I gave up. Deplike is the only software I know that (more or less) fully supports USB.

Stefan Edward You can easily use the speaker of the amp. I don't know if you can use this essentially like a multi effects pedal. I would try deplike.com to research that.

marco andrias merila Hi. Try a couple if simple things first. 1) Try switching the outputs from your soundcard. 2) Try testing your soundcard ... plug into another device and directly into the speaker. If those don't work, it may be one of the other components, like the cables. Finally, it's possible your phone isn't supported by Deplike.

My main concern with using computers like an Android as your amp is the latency. Last time I tried this on Windows it was a good 50ms of lag, it was like a Speechjammer, it made playing fast riffs impossible. Now I can't see your hands in this video while you're playing, but you say the latency is okay?
@MarkZabel
@MarkZabel 4 жыл бұрын
Actually, I was using it in the intro to the video, so you can see my hands there. The latency is okay; 5-10 ms, not 50 ms. With really fast riffs you'll notice you're ahead of the sound, but just a little. The biggest issue I had was with the noise on the sound card. Super-noisy. (Here's an improvement:kzbin.info/www/bejne/i5a1oYaFZaeXY5Y) Good luck!

Found the video. I uninstalled the Maestro and installed it. Scrolled down..I am using a small phone. The video cam on from you tube. I think it is unlisted.. Anyways this is the most fantastic app I've seen.. I rated it before very high .. but It is a 9.5 or more. Sounds are realistic. I will master this app. Also they are good about improving the app. I suggested essentially layering notes inside triplets ..I did not use the word layering but it's the same. I was hoping they had done it and they did. Oh it's free of charge on playstore. I assume the same on on IOS. I am planning to use this as both bluetooth and click track in certain situations.

Yes. Just go directly to headphones instead of the speaker. If you have 3.5 mm headphones (like earbuds for a phone) it will just work. If you have a 1/4" input for your headphones you'll need a 3.5mm to 1/4" adapter. Good luck!

The sound card has two 3.5" jacks - that's what you need them for. The phone should NOT get a 3.5" jack. You connect to the phone via a USB-OTG cable that goes into the charge port. It's very clear in the video.

Your model may not support USB/OTG. I don't know an obvious option using this same setup. You would have to go through the headphone jack I think. Maybe iRig sells an interface now that would work. I'm not positive. You could maybe consider another option like a Line 6 Pod or a Vox Amplug (or cheaper versions of those items). I'm not sure what you're looking to do. The phone solution isn't necessarily the best one for you.

Hi Rob. I couldn't get Deplike to work through the headphone jack / mic input. It's probably possible, but I'm not sure. I *did* get another app to work through the headphones, but the latency was horrible! The USB/OTG fixed that for me, so that's why I'm recommending it.
