I started slowly getting back into RP but I never once RP'd in FFXIV, mostly in WoW. I vividly remember I got into XIV mostly because of my WoW Guild, which was a WoW RP guild, wanted to switch to XIV (which we didn't completely.) I was sort of just someone who followed the trend for the most part in my guild, and there was no shortage of drama - some members were not popular by comparison to others. I remember we all just RP'd in the culinary guild like once, and then never again. I just watched all three stories. The ones like these make me want to bring back my normie freakin' Hyur whose a monster slaying warrior. Nothing strange, just a "retired" warrior of light who wants to fight monsters threatening Eorzea. We need more things like that in the game. Edit: I have my own personal horror stories I could share but (un)fortunately they're not FFXIV related. I might have to share one one day.

I do a ton of RP... the way Jay describes is the perfect example of a cultist, taking In character ( where you are playing your character rather yourself) to OOC ( reality) and making something more of it. One of the major rules of RP is keep In character separate from reality, and he broke that.

I can't RP in FF to save my life lol, always unsure where to even begin as well. Least with DnD it's an area of comfort and I'm intimately familiar with the setting. Also Jay is definitely breaking that sacred boundary of IC/OOC.

Yes, Jay's issue is Godmodding. He doesn't like to lose in PVP duels and refuses to take NO for an answer. He also loves to flaunt his “25 years in RP” as a way to get new female characters to RP with him as he targets sprouts and those with the returning flowers icons. Especially if they are low level and not already in an FC.

The point is that I had a feeling that if I went to his house alone in game he would put me into a situation where I would have to teleport to get out of it. A creepy feeling is a creepy feeling and wanting to avoid a creepy feeling by making sure that one other person is there so I am not put in the situation in the first place is valid. The fact I could easily 'escape' is irrelevant.
