BUILD: Evike George's m4

Built this a couple weeks ago for George from Evike. Pretty simple SHS 18:1 setup on a Prometheus M120 spring. Base was a G&P m4 with g&p airseal parts except for the piston assembly. Using a BTC Spectre mosfet and that's really where this gun shines. Trigger response is excellent with a decent ROF.

i have a btc spectre in my m4 n was wondering just how bad is the motor braking for the motor? i left the anti reversal latch out because of the feature, kinda thinking ima put it back in...

I like the arl as a safety in case something goes wrong but motor breaking isn't the WORST thing for your gun. Just understand that it will add extra wear to the brushes so you might have to replace those sooner than later and it will add extra motor heat if that's a concern.

Hey valleyriverarms I just picked up/ installed a BTC Spectre in my G&P and I am having trouble with the selector plate. I already wrapped it with tape to fix the engagement with the microswitches but I am still heaving trouble with the mosfet realizing what firing mode I am in. What do you recommend I do to fix it or what selector plate do u recommend to replace the stock G&P one with? thanks

Take out the plate itself and test the switches to make sure those work for sure. If they do then try something like a Lonex selector plate or anything with metal contacts. Those generally work.

Actually since he's using it for milsim stuff and probably will be using purely semi for the most part you could probably put a higher tpa motor and a lower ratio gear and get nearly instant trigger response.

this one is already pretty fast. With cycle completion on the spectre he doesn't have to worry really.

Nope. Still using the same one. No abnormal wear on the pinion though so keeping it as is

Was there any reason to go for the Guarder piston head over the Lonex?

easier and cheaper for me to get a hold of. They both seal just as well. Lonex is a little heavier.

What type of spring do you recommend? M130? Or m140?

I recommend figuring out the fps you want and then buying the according spring.

The squeak is actually probably being caused by the fact that Lonex pinions really don't like shs bevels. Had a similar issue on one of my own builds. possibly. Not really sure but there's no abnormal bevel or pinion wear so leaving it as is.

valleyriverarms I've had this problem with the motor grip also, but there's also the problems with the Lonex Pinion meshing with the SHS gears.

What grip do you recommend for a pistol grip as far as Motor alignment ?

a2 grip or anything without a backstrap
