Build Here for AFK Raids in Scrap Mechanic Survival

There are hundreds of good places to build a farm in Scrap Mechanic Survival but not all are created equal. In my last video I showed the spot that I think is best. However, if you are looking for a more casual experience there are a few places you can build your farm that are much easier to defend. In fact two of them can be defended while completely AFK.

Scrap Mechanic gameplay but not with ScrapMan, Moonbo or KanGaming. This is also not Scrap Mechanic Creative or Scrap Mechanic Challenge Mode. It's all Scrap Mechanic Survival mode. Oh and there's also no Scrap Mechanic Markiplier or Scrap Mechanic iBallisticSquid gameplay either. I also don't use the Suspension Glitch in Scrap Mechanic or Piston Engines.

In my World is in the Maze Middle of 4 „chunk“ corners. So you get 4 Raids @ ones. So i get 12 Farmbots @ ones.

Same on mine.. and possibly for every maze i think. Its always in the same spot.. just all the surrounding terrain is different. Dead center is center of 4 chunks. Lol. 400 crops.. 4 lvl 10 raids possibly.

i haven't found my maze but sounds like a great way to get metal. set up a bunch of saw and drill traps with censors and just afk for a while

@@hikoplays only scrap metal. Metal is the key to getting to the next level. Farming sucks, but the key is to be as efficient as possible.. i started with simple 1-blade and 1-drill vehicles.. and once u understand the physics and build an effecient driller and cutter.. it's less tedious.

My maze location.. road leads to 1 entrance.. road vanishes.. then picks back up at the exit on the opposite side. Thats how i found it so easy.

That's awesome. There is a road near the maze I showed but you can't see the maze from the road as it's down a hill and there's a very large wheat field in between.

The thing is, even if I want to actively defend against the raids, I would still prefer it if my farming machines don't get lost to bad luck or glitches. Some cool locations that I noticed were quite common are these small plateaus in the deserts near oil. They only have about 300 farming spaces but have the benefit of usually having oil nearby. I find flying vehicles a complete gamechanger so being in loading range of oil means you never have to worry about fuel and can be very wasteful.

i like this series a lot. a few questions. does every single spot need to be covered to prevent spawns? what if there is like one missing block will bot spawn there :) . also the trader hideout hills are a good spot for easy farming for the same reason as the plateau, and it has water nearby. by the way scrap man sent me your way, but you stand on your own merits. he does long funny vids you do short educational ones. i like these.

You don't need to build on every square but it's easiest to just cover the whole island. Glad you enjoy the videos!

Sometime u can find a plateau by the trader.. usually a ramp to climb up to the rocks surrounding him. Not guaranteed.

I think the plateau will be completely random and may or may not exist on any given map.

Hay bots are the only one able to get to the center of the maze, all other bots break/ignore everything.

Maze is perfect imo, it's safe enough you can lock it down if you want to leave, and I'm actually currently developing some auto turret kill hallways for each side, so I'm thinking some strategically placed resource boxes and vacuums would take care of everything, especially since my maze happened to be right next to not only water, but a desert with two oil wells and a large plateau. I'd argue the maze is the best though, it's low enough that building retractable ramps is a much better and easier feat than iffy elevators or strenuous staircases, and you can just build floors to make a base on top of the maze itself with the farm as the inner sanctum, it's easy mode and it still lets you actually face off and gain resources from raids if you want

If you go straight down the road that leads from the crashed ship to the first mechanics station (or there might not be a road, just draw a line from the ship to the station and follow the end that goes forward) you will always find a hay maze. No idea if this is random or not, but from what I have seen, there is always an ocean next to it, my idea was to craft a bunch of chests full of straight pipes and i ran down a water source straight to the middle. During raids the bots just stall next to the wall and even if you get down they won't attack neither you nor even wocs nearby. Will move my farm out of there 100% for a more intense experience, but I'm there for the time being since I'm not too far into the game.

Where it is on the map is likely static but since everything around the major locations is random it will surely look different on every map.

That's a good place , but when i did try it the totebot will always be stuck in the hay , haybot are smart enough to know the path , but if you put a good defence you should be good :) , Great video Milton Keep up your work love it Bro :D

If you're talking about the hay maze, I've seen that if the haybots don't spawn right next to the 2 entrances, they just stall next to the wall like the totebots

This what I thought would happen but what about Farm Bots? They seem slightly smarter and will usually try to find a way to the crops.

Hay and Farmbots can solve the maze. Nur you can easy Block the Way off.

@@MediocreMilton I have tested most things when it comes to the maze. Farmbots are as dumb as the rest, in fact, probably dumber. They don't shoot the chemicals, they don't try to path, they just look at a wall until the raid ends, even if they spawn inside it (bots can sometimes spawn on the outer corridors of the maze, but they still have no clue where to go and I believe you can make bots spawn only outside the maze by placing blocks inside it in case someone wants to populate the whole thing). I've only seen haybots path through the maze a few times out of the dozens of raids i have witnessed, and it actually looks quite interesting, they speed through the whole thing, not making a turn for a dead end, although when they get to the middle they can obviously be picked off easily. Tape bots might be the hardest to kill, but that's relative to the others, they just shoot randomly until they die or the raid ends. As it currently stands, I believe the maze is broken and not in a good way, bots seem to absolutely ignore you, even when you're right in their face, which just looks unnatural, even farmbots ignore you, I've placed them on lifts and gone right under them harmlessly You can set up a whole herd of wocs and they will never escape because the maze is a piece of terrain and they will never get attacked because... well, the bots just break

The hay maze in my world was in the middle of hay fields and it was really far away from any coast. Found it by accident

If you can find an island far enough from other lands no bots will spawn at all if u have the whole island u are on covered. Nice vid.

I also have two plateaus very close to the ship and somewhat close to water. There's another plateau very close to it. Bots don't spawn on the top of either. I've already built a bridge and I'm currently working on setting a permanent base on both. There are some islands nearby, so I'm thinking of building my farm in one of the islands, workshop and garage in plateau n2 and house in plateau n1

Thanks for a nice vid. Let me elaborate a bit on some of the stuff. The plateau you refer to spawns on the starting tile with the first space ship - it's there in everyone's game (00Fant tested this with 3-4 restarts). The elevation on the top variates a bit from start to start. The main points on the map in the Survival mode is the same for all maps. The terrain around is randomly generated - but hideout, camps, packing stations, maze etc. is all fixed. Spoiler Alert! Personally I built my base on the Trader hills however, it don't have a lot of room for farms :) The spawn in at raids works like a "ray" from above only spawning on a couple of the Terrain type tiles - hence when you cover them with a building block they cannot spawn.

i want to deal with waves too... but not exactly with fair battle, because of it i did iron tier 2 fence against haybots, i need more playtime to go further, but need test saw traps and other stuffs, i try use saw from my lumberjack car and it not did damage, but engine 1 with no much power may be the problem i will try more powerfull rotation hehe

It's not a maze is it.... it's a skirmish field. It's got to 2 starting points and a centre capture/flag square. It's for multiplayer games vs battles I'm guessing.

I haven't found this hay maze yet, I've found the abandoned farm with the water tank blocks, but the devs have clearly made recommended small farming spots near the water indicated with fences. Has anyone tried building in side the trader's area?

Squiddy has, normal raids. If you want a really op spot, find a desert area with a hard-to-climb hill next to an oil pool or on top of the trader walls.

So I have lots of spud guns like the ones that can be attached to walls and more (I forgot what they are called) I made a wall out of them and tier 3 metal so it's very good with boss bots and hay bots and tape bots but the tot bots somehow live and that's annoying dose anyone have any ideas how I can fix it?
