Nice update on the 55. I bought my first 57 chevy in 1964 and I remember plenty of nice Tri Fives running the streets back in the day. Your idea for the car sounds great.

Dan, I love this plan! I am doing the same thing on my Bel Air 2 door sedan as it still has the 70's/80's Street Machine look. I have chrome Moroso Valve Covers and the Accel Ignition Parts with Stewart Warner Gauges. I think this look is overdue for a revival! I am really looking forward to seeing the look of a hardtop windshield in the sedan. With the 70's rake and the Gabriel Hi-Jackers, it should look great and really catch the eye of a tri five guy! Keep up the great work!

Have you ever heard of the RAC gauges and tach? Rite Autotronics Corporation (RAC). They were made in California. I can't find much info on them. I drug in a 4 door about 20 years ago and it had RAC gauges under the dash. The guy told me he put them in the car in 1978. Everyone uses the high end gauges = Stewart Warner, Sun, etc. I'm hoping they're good quality and still work.

@@haffrods7055 I don't recall them but, the price tag sticker looks to be from K-Mart. I am sure they were a lower end gauge meant to compete with SW at a cheaper cost. Much like the stuff we'd buy back in those days because it was what we could afford. I am sure they are good because the stuff made back in the day is still much better than the crap made overseas today. There may even be a possibility that Stewart Warner made the gauges for RAC. Very cool stuff that will totally fit in with this build!
