I enjoy following your build on here. While I'm in the FB group I don't follow it so much now as people find so much wrong with the build. I just want to enjoy it for what it is. I don't mind if it's not 100% perfect and I doubt anyone looking at it after I've built it will know any different.

Okay, You got me. I have subscribed to your channel. I have got issue 1 & 2 already, but, not going to start it until I get my workbench cleared. The way it's going, I figure my backlog will be up to issue 30 before that happens. Love the builds, even though I have little chance of building a Terminator dwarf or the HMS victory, but still fun to watch. Keep it up!

I am enjoying your vids on this build immensely and am very close to ordering this one up to go along with my Delorean build. On the subject of color, I asked a friend of mine (who runs the garage that I go to for oil changes and such) about that. He says the color of the bell housing and gear box is the correct color and shouldn't need painted anything different.
@Milner624 жыл бұрын
To help you out with colors if you want to make changes like I plan to below is the factory color of the different components on a '59 Cadillac. Engine Blue : Block, Heads, Valve Covers (Eldorado : Gold), Transmission Flywheel Cover, Crankcase Ventilation Tube, Oil Pans (Engine 7 Transmission), Engine Valley Cover, Oil Filler (not breather), Water Pump, Oil Filter Bracket, Oil Filter Housing (Eldorado : Gold), Power steering pump support bracket, Lower Pulley (Harmonic Balancer), Fan Pulley. Gloss Black : Radiator, AC & Heater Fan blower and Housing (or block off), Voltage Regulator, Distributor Cap (black plastic) Semi Gloss Black : Power Steering Pump & reservoir, Power Steering box, Generator & Bracket, Distributor, Air filter Housing (Eldorado : Gold), Starter, Master Cylinder, Brake Booster (if Bendix), Fan, Oil Breather Cap, Hinge Springs (Some Anodized Cadmium), Ignition Coil ('60 has brown top), Battery Tray, Battery Hold-down Bracket. Anodized Cadmium (Goldish) : Hinges & Supports, Hinge Springs, Firewall Brackets & Hardware, Hood Latch & Lock, Cruise Control mounting brackets, Brake Booster (if Morraine), Assorted bolts and washers Anodized Silver : Wiper Motor, Throttle relay & Dashpot, Vacuum actuators, AC bypass valve, washer jar mounting, front grill, Generator "fan" blades. Cast Iron : Fuel Pump, Fuel Filter Housing Bare Metal : Radiator Cap, Power steering pump cap, generator Condenser, Generator Condenser Clamp. Washer jar lid dark Gunmetal Gray. If you are replicating how she appeared in GB 1 most of the parts on the engine was sprayed all engine blue which also includes the fuel pump and fuel filter housing.

For metal into metal you want to put the screw in half way, then back out to remove any shavings then back in. Makes it 10x easier when screwing into metal. peticularly painted metal as the metal parts aren't threaded.

Good tip with the screws, I had a little bit of bother with one👍🏻
@mcsmith9734 жыл бұрын
Just a quick note: as the holes for the screws are not pre-threaded, as you insert the screw for the first time, the shavings or 'swarf' is pushed down to the bottom of the hole, insert the screw half way, unscrew it & tip out the swarf, then fully tighten the screw 👍

I’m just wondering if the windows will be tinted as I’ve seen videos of the completed model and the windows on those are not tinted.

So on the model preview foldout they give you, it shows and even says working fog lights; that means it doesn’t have to be modded yes?
@WorldofWayneUK4 жыл бұрын
No one knows at the moment. There is quite the discussion on the facebook group regarding that

Its an on going subject of conversation ... they could be place keepers they could be requiring a mod ... its a shame there’s no way to get a comment from the model designer

You mention the colour bias difference between cameras. Have you thought of using a grey card to match the colour temperature between your different shots?

Yer It gets harder to match as the side camera is on a macro lens

The lettering system for this build seems to be the same system used in the Delorean build (EM AM etc) but are the screws the same? That is, do the EM screws from this build match the EM screws from the Delorean build. Just wondering :)

Was there any changes in Ghostbusters 2 to the ecto? If so do you think they will extend more issues nearer the end?
@TheAquabears4 жыл бұрын
There were numerous differences between the two cars. The rear bumper on the 1-A was a truck style diamond-plate step-bumper, the passenger-side ladder was missing, the roof equipment was altered with new equipment being added, and existing components removed or rearranged, the small surface vents on the front and rear of the original Ecto-1 were missing, the 1-A had two additional strobes set into the front grille, and it had additional paint detailing in the form of signs and stripes that were not present on the earlier vehicle.

Issue 5 and they have not cancelled it yet ;-) (what am i like :-) ) it looks good so far and i would have gone with this one if they had not pulled the DB5 with no explanation.
@williamgreen55754 жыл бұрын
Best way for threading the screws into metal is NOT brute force! Tiny dab of oil, 2 or 3 turns in, then back out 1, repeat till done. This way you are actually removing the paint from the threads
