Build Your Own Solar Oven / Hot Dog Cooker!

In this video Cat's Science Club will show you step by step on how to build your very own solar over / hotdog cooker. It's a great science activity that can easily be made into science experiments by changing a variable. Also a great example for transfer of energy.

Large pickle jar, paint it black..leave a rectangle area of clear glass. Dry...put food inside, put lid on. Sit inside a cardboard box with foil on all sides!

Ok so this is a great idea and I made one to take with me up to the mountains but I gotta tell ya bro. You are not very good at captivating the younger audience. You were putting me to sleep watching this. You have to be more excited about this. Change the pitch of your voice every once in a while. Use more hand gestures, maybe draw a little person on one of your fingers and make him a mohawk out of a cotton ball and a marker and have him help you build it. Something to make the kids laugh. Cuz if you dont seem excited with the project than the kids wont get excited about it either

Cut the edges of the foot piece off. Then glue them convex to convex side on either End of the remaining foot piece. Then the oven can rotate without rolling away to face the sun. Lite, cheap and fewer materials.

suggest a roasting bag vs cling wrap (which is not chemically stable for cooking)
