In part 3 I the back slats all shaped and ready for finish, along with doing the finale shaping of the chair and sanding.

Brian. Absolutely magnificent. I would consider myself rich if I could afford to buy your work. I would consider myself the richest man in the world if I could do what you've just done. I completely love your workshop Bro! Keep the videos coming Brian. 100%

I'm blown away. Exquisite workmanship, ingenious joinery, maybe even better design! Did you just dive right in to the premium lumber or did you do a test build with scrap first? And how many shop hours do you estimate you had in each chair?

Okay, you got it going on! Well shot, tight joints, beautiful wood and lot's of skill. Super impressed. Thanks for building off of my templates.

Mike Petzold yeah a lot more time then you think. And if I can actually talk people into them it would be a okay paycheck by no means am I making a killing off of them.

Very nice work Brian. I’m curious though, how did you get the back supports in after the seat and crest had been installed? I’m guessing the flexed enough to slip them in? Thanks for sharing your work, really nice stuff here.
@brianwoodworking69105 жыл бұрын
David yeah they just flex in

Thanks for the fast response. Two questions: Have you ever had a spindle pop back out after installation? Do you offer/sell templates for the chairs you make?
@brianwoodworking69106 жыл бұрын
Tim DeVries no they go far enough up that they will not do that. And no I do not sell templates
@tdd2252226 жыл бұрын
Beautiful job You don’t show installing the spindles. I assume you do that after back is completely assembled? Do you glue them? Do you just flex them enough to pop them in place?
@brianwoodworking69106 жыл бұрын
Tim DeVries they are flexible enough that I can get them into place after words. And no I don’t glue them that would defeat the purpose of them being flexible

What finish do you use?
@brianwoodworking69106 жыл бұрын
Ross Nanfito it’s a poly oil blend that I mix up
@RossNanfito6 жыл бұрын
I recently tried a table top of poly oil blend. I wasn't happy with the result but I suspect I got the ratio of poly to oil wrong. It was thicker and stickier when curing. I used 3 equal parts poly-boiled linseed oil-tung oil. What oils and ratio do you use?
@brianwoodworking69106 жыл бұрын
Ross Nanfito I only use that finish on the chairs, oil on every thing else
@RossNanfito6 жыл бұрын
Thanks but you didn't say what your mixture ratio is.
