Your mention and showing of the Toe-Dangler brought back an old memory. I accidently cast a lure over a limb one time and while immediately retrieving to recast, it got about 1 to 1.5 feet out of the water and about a 3/4 pound bass jumped out of the water and got it. This was in 1974 in about a 15 acre farm pond built by the government (CCC I think) during the depression near Oxford, Mississippi. I was amazed. I was 26, attending Ol' Miss, at the time and had been bass fishing since I was a toddler and had never seen a bass jump that high for a lure.

You are correct those are 100% coyotes - those are definitely not foxes ..... kind of neat to see how they react with deer and how the deer seem somewhat carefree around them. I would image around the time they are dropping fawns that will all change and the relationship between them may be quite a bit more "adversarial" .... lol

Geese stand on one leg to help regulate their temperature and stay warm by tucking the other one up into their feathers. They lose body heat through their legs since the rest of their body is insulated. It seems like an odd thing to do during the dog days of summer but I think it's just instinctual, and many of them are native to places with cold climates. Plus I'm sure that water is cooler than the air temp.
