I noticed when you TIG your arms are always floating. Always try and position your body and the item your welding in such a way that you can rest your elbows on something. Easier said than done I know.. But sometimes making a jig for your elbows is necessary. Takes the jitters and the wobbles out of your TIGS lol

Do yourself a favor and have an extra cam Angle sensor in the glove box. If you start getting misfire that won't go away with tighter plug gaps etc. Most likely the sensor.

Hi, Rafael. The QRJ does install differently than our Q and QR, as the 'side' is the inlet. This is due to the fundamental design difference, which allows the pressurized charge-air to surround the tapered piston. It also allows the use of a very light, very responsive spring. We do agree that it looks a little weird until the operation is explained.

Great work, I really enjoy watching this build. Couple of things I'd like to mention 1. Source out a CBRD 1" slim radiator. It will give you a lot more clearance and it'll have a proper upper outlet for the 4-6 Evo (running it on my 9) 2. 90 degree elbow is less than ideal as if will create some turbulence. Consider switching it to a 45 or maybe modifying the core Good luck with the build. Look forward to seeing it complete

@JordieG8 4 жыл бұрын
I laughed pretty good when you were welding the 90 on and had to peel the tungsten off the weld. I'm not a pro TIG welder by any stretch of the imagination, but I do quite bit of it. One tip I have is to "Warm up" first. Meaning, grab some scrap and lay a flat bead just to get a bit if practice in before you weld for keeps.

Looking good. Those plugs on the oil filter / pump housing are 3/8" BSPT, not NPT. Keep that in mind if you ever want to plug the hole or it leaks. NPT most likely will seal against it but it isn't optimal. BSPT fittings are a bit hard to find, at least BSPT -> NPT but ask around some hydraulics specialist shops.

For welding aluminum, switch back to a reg cup #8/10 whatever you have. Use about double the cup # for your CFH ie #8 set reg at around 15-20 CFH. Also throw in a 3/32 or 1/8 tungsten. If you can ball the tungsten it will be a little more stable arc. Let the cleaning action of the AC cook the soot out of the ally, so watch the black stuff kind of move away from the arc and create a mat finish. Once that's done give it enough amperage to you start to see a puddle form, sticking to the end-tank as it is thicker, let the arc dance on he tank and a little on the core and only when the puddle goes shiny you start to ad the filler. Get some scrap and practice just need that seat time. I like both STI and EVO, but I hope EVO kicks the STI ass. STI are just everywhere need some new blood at the top !!
