Great work. I like the design very much. Jay, love the doors! You did a great job and I knew Stephanie would love them. Thank you for keeping them natural😊. Only one comment and hubby said it and I agreed, you need to put a second knob on the other door so it looks symmetrical. She could use either knob to pull, but it looks unbalanced with only one knob. Again GREAT JOB!!!

The wood prep was great. This is how I should have gone after. You leave the panel a little wider a little longer. GLUE The panel, straightline on jointer or with a plunge saw. Then cut it to length. You may need a piece of metal 3/16 x 1 1/4 so your panel doesn't cup, that face on one side may not be enough to keep it straight. You cut a notch on the face piece to hide the metal. Glue the face on, use 2 nails to keep it from moving and clamp the pieces.

I love these videos. It's so fun seeing your humor in the Perkins Builder Brother videos but I love watching your smaller projects. So many woodworking videos these days are the ideal woodshop furniture builders but sometimes I don't need the perfect piece of furniture milled from lumber I harvested from my backyard, I need to see how to make it look great from a carpenter that knows how to do it super efficiently with what they know, bonus points for Jaime providing sone tools you dont have though. This project looks awesome and I'd love to have that in my home, and since I'm redoing our closet doors and flooring I learned some things from this.

Nice job, Jay! The only things different I would have done would be to make the door bigger, as you suggested, and the pull placement. Sitting where it is now, when the door is open, it's a catch hazard. Had the pull been placed on the fixed panel, it would be behind the door when it's open and completely out of the path of movement. I love the clear finish, that was an excellent choice on Nana's part. The look on Steph's face says it all, dude. I'm certain that will pay off big for the relationship! I have done quite a few barn doors, but had no idea the hardware kits were available in a bifold version. Thanks for the video, because this opens a whole lot of options for my clients now!

As a cabinet maker in Australia i do a fair bit of Bi-Fold doors. We normally place 2 handle knobs on the internal edges same distance you did. Center from height and 50mm in from edge. But with the 2nd handle even though its not required visually i think it plays much nicer.. But either way really like the look and it is awesome bud!

I'm no builder or anything but I wonder if putting the knob in the same position on the other door might have been a better choice, that way when it opens the knob is facing outwards and won't catch on your clothes or whatever. Look, either way, what an amazing job Jay! Totally the right choice on the clear coat, that's some beautiful timber right there, be a shame to try and cover it with a stain. Looks amazing. Kudos from Melbourne Australia.
