I have followed this channel since the borax wagons , and you sir , are the most industrious person i have ever seen. I'm almost certain that the missus makes you a hearty breakfast. Lol , thanks to both of you.

I'm feeling cold just watching. Looks to be a great idea especially for a cows first time being herded into a trailer and stable. Job well done.

Thanks for taking us along on this ride today Dave. Ranchers work is never done but lot's of fun when it comes together as you planned. Looks good, and things are still able to thaw out for a while. Stay safe and keep up the fun around there. Fred.

I have witessed the strength of these boys. We were dehorning some younger steers. We had one agitated one where we tried to chain him to a post. we didnt have a nose ring and he just pulled a big post straight out of the ground. I hope he doesnt lean on your panels or gate too much!

Dave, I spent last weekend in Death Valley, and on my way home I stopped by Harmony Borax Works to see the 20 mule team wagons in person. They have weathered excellently, and are looking really old. They fit right in with the rest of the interpretive center.

My kids had charlaois 4H cows. We had to make the catch pen 6' tall and made from 2" upset tubing. those farm store gates were just a hurdle that they jumped on, bent them down to walk across height. We had a 18' wide 8' across cattle guard made out of 4 & 7/8 drill stem. One young bull learned that he could jump 8' and get out in the crops. One of the kids would go put a rope on the halter we kept on him and lead him back behind the Honda big red and through the wide walk through door on the barn. He sure was graceful when he jumped that cattle guard. We kept getting calls that we had big Charlaois cows out. I had an Oil Well power unit repair near home and when I ducked in to refill my jug with tea, I saw one of those cows being harrassed by one of the horses so it simply jumped over a standard cattle fence and of course, 2 or 5 would decide to jump the fence. The horses left that week.

We had 3 inches of snow at 26F here last friday in Holland, and no longer used to that, a large part of the country ended up in a complete standstill. And on sunday a record braking 60F again...

@@Whipple1 G"day, A trifle risque though... Dave grew up among the Mennonites, not as strict as the Amish...; but jocularity regarding Human Reproduction might not be necessarily appreciated. *- Bubbling water never freezes. That is how hydro dams keep their spillways free of ice at minus 36 below zero.* *- A solar cells running a fish tank bubbler will keep your water tub free of ice.*

I’m a city boy so forgive what may sound like like stupid questions. How are you handling your cattle? I’m assuming that since you are building loading facilities, the cattle are going somewhere. Are they going to a local butcher who will slaughter, process & package the meat? Will they also provide freezer accommodations, or will you pick up the lot & freeze it yourself.
@dianeengel41554 сағат бұрын
The steer is going to the butcher soon. We have a freezer, and our son,who we will share with, has one, too.

Dave could you not run an underground hose from the 1000 gallon tank to the smaller tank and add a ball cock so you only have to refill the big tank every so often i know its not ideal for winter

@azroger752654 минут бұрын
Good video. But... What happened to the 12,000 or so gallon tank in the big insulated building with heater tape on the outflow pipe and a hydrant down by the cows? This hauling water from home seems like a step backwards. Just sayin'.
