Hi! I’m also a beginner in this ( only built 2 pedals ). Use a multimeter to sort all resistors! The direction of a resistor doesn’t matter unlike a capacitor.

Correctoin for 04:04 All resistors are very much "interchangable from side to side" - ie. doesn't matter which direction they're put in:)
@blindboyrecording3 ай бұрын
Also: you should very much solder on the bottom of the PCB and not from the top down, as you're doing it. Damaging components from over-exposure from heat, is a possibility and also much easier for checking for fault or repairing down the road.

Yes! Give me a week or 2/3, i need to get a multimeter and wait for the testrig to arrive to make sure this preamp is flawless!

You should use flux when u solder bro it helps a lot it makes the solder flow way better so don’t have to do any touch ups
@thomasvopstal3 ай бұрын
I believe the type of solder i used already has flux in it, but i could be wrong
@jamesglewmusic3 ай бұрын
@@thomasvopstal still won't be as good as using a separate flux. Top tip for not scrathing faceplates is to use a socket from a socket set. Thanks for the video though, very funny too!

Yes! The comparison will follow soon! I’m not soldering everything on both sides btw, just touching up where it didnt flow through by itself

As a tip…Soldering both sides introduces extra heat that can damage sensitive components. Especially transistors. Using high heat and soldering quickly is key to a well flowed joint.
