You make everyone easily realize that Bitwig is leaps ahead of the competition in terms of experimental sound design and automation and it all comes at an extreme ease. The grid and modulators open such a unique new dimension to everything about music production that you immediately get a headache when you think about doing the same thing in another DAW

as someone that likes to toss in random glitches and stutters, this was pretty brilliant!

Thx again Polarity...Noticed and totally love the fact that you've done a few more tutorials using actual audio waves lately! looking forward to being able to make the equivalent of your self generating one bar/note type of songs using only a bar on each track of live audio/instrumemts ie RL drums/e. guitar ect. Plus eventually throwing the almighty GRID in there too will be amazing! More PLZ! Thanks Boss!

I built a sort of "Beatrepeat clone" in Bitwig using the Grid and modulators, I added functions as a step sequencer and panning randomization...

Imagine how cool this would be if Grid had a good 'recorder' module....

Hey you make great videos man. I was wondering if you use fx on the master bus while your working on projects like a compressor or limiter?

Is it possible to get multiple audio inputs into one instance of the Grid? Like if I had 4 outputs from an external drum machine, and I wanted to process the kick, snare, hats and clap in the same grid project?
@PolarityMusic3 жыл бұрын
the "audio sidechain" module can import audio from all bitwig tracks into the grid.

Its a classic breakbeat (do the do / circle break), layered with some synth drums

This is definitely cool way to randomize your drums and make them live but i don't think you can use it on practice. Because usually we have a lot of drum layers in dnb music. So you have to use such effect to entire drums. It's okay but we have sidechain signals for our kick and snare. And how can we have accurate sidechain when our drums become unpredictable?
@PolarityMusic4 жыл бұрын
you can use the filter on the sidechain modulator to just filter out the bassdrum and use the drum group as an sidechain input. sometimes I shuffle the complete drums + bass bus.
@ancient_observer4 жыл бұрын
@@PolarityMusic yes, it's possible. But i don't like sidechain modulator in Bitwig. It doesn't allow to assign attack and release time. I prefer to use Shaper Box 2 for sidechain. It's more precise tool for that in my opinion. And i have to make midi signals for trigger. That's why such drum's randomize is pain for me. Perphaps it's also a habit for me to control everything :-)

I know :D a lot of people are suuuper precise about their ducking curves. I dont know why exactly, because you usually want to glue everything together somehow in the end. maybe loosen up a little :D
