Garrett not sure if you know but you can add some oxide to the mix to make different colour sets. Masonry supply stores should have a range of different coloured oxides and it will only take a small amount. Add oxide to the water first then add the cement and mix 👍🏼

@@GarrettGinner also cut a bit of fine chicken wire mesh to fit etc cut 10mm smaller then the mould so it sits away from the edges of the mould and won’t be seen, pour half the mould then chuck the mesh in then pour the rest. The ones you done will most likely break easily without structural support especially if not placed down gently on the bench 👍🏼

Hey garrett, it’s mad how far your content has come since the old days, as someone who’s messed about with concrete moulds and this sorta stuff it’s definitely worth trying some marbling effects. Lightly dabbing a sponge with a darker/lighter tone of paint than the casting material (e.g concrete) and then using a thin brush to paint little crack style lines down the marble is a simple way to achieve a really cool look. Also its really easy and worth a go to mix up some resin with different paints and lightly stir leaving a wavy pattern before pouring, if your lucky you can get some mental looking marble with all sorts of colours. Could be the next step for you little business haha. Love the content man keep it up!!!
@cedarwatt95707 ай бұрын
worth noting that clear coat is needed if painting marble effects as it will obviously come off when skating!

Hey Garrett I work in construction specifically with concrete you should get color hardener it comes in a bucket in powder form you add it with the wet concrete and mix it in it will change the color and you can experiment

If you wanna get rid of air bubbles, get yourself a vac chamber big enough to fit your mix inside of. Will need a decent generator to run it but if your quick enough before the cement sets, you’ll have ZERO air bubbles. Can also use other materials instead of cement! I do a lot of over moulds for a living, you shouldn’t need mould release using hope it helps!

If you use the quick set like your doing and you have extra. Wait for it to get a little dry and moldable. Then put it on parchment paper and you have shape a small parking curb. Smooth it out then sand it down.

if you have one of those hand held massage guns, those work really well for knocking out all the air pockets in molds for concrete pours. also the trowel need to be wet when floating the surface for finishing.

Those Vlad Stakes on top of the bank make me nervous. I've seen people fall on vertical rebar. Be careful. Rubber and plastic breaks away from concrete easily. You can tap on those molds or oick them up an inch and drop them to "Vibrate" it too. That is like 6000 pps quickset cement too.
