Green chef is awsome since I am out in the field working on houses and my wife being a High School English teacher is worn out in a different way. Meals are well planned and come together quickly. For some reason I can't straight comment, but as usual you ROCK! Love all your videos! A thought....I kinda wish you to slow down and show use on tools etc such as domino but understan since this is a huge project and lengthy. Also waiting for new videos. Top fan.

I was once a young boy with a mom who was an ace with a table saw. Her shop wasn’t nearly as well fitted out as yours. But her mentorship with my interest in woodworking was so important for me. She taught me plenty about wood and tool use, and also taught me to not be an obnoxious male know-it-all when brilliant women can show me how much I have to learn. I wish you were my next door neighbor. I’d be looking over your shoulder all the time. You’d probably get tired of that. Great teaching.

Thing I love about this channel is you show all the mistakes you make, and some are not minor. I used to get so frustrated in my own projects when I make mistakes because you rarely see content creators making them. Vacuuming under the bed feels more satisfying without having to deal with unnecessary obstruction. Plus, it's way cleaner looking. Sooo love this build!. . .I think imma make one?. . .lol Keep it up, stay safe always, and God bless, Tamar!

Glad to see youtube is finally recommending me your videos again after your break, time to catch up on the two I missed! One thing I took away from this build was how good the side tables looked next to the bed with the oversized headboard, they fit so well there like they were part of the bed without actually being attached. I've only ever thought of making headboards as wide as the bed so that detail is really expanding my thinking.

Those who have never made a mistake, never made anything. When I did my apprenticeship, one of my tutors taught me ‘it’s not a mistake, until you can’t fix it’. We always try to do things right, but sometimes we need to employ a work around to make it right. Adding domino’s was the extra step, possibly not needed, but got yo to where you were happy with the build quality.

Really like the look of the finish, it looks amazing. It is nice that you left in the visions of your mistakes, as that is how we all learn to become better at what we love to do. Having something built by a family member is so much more satisfying as it also brings along years worth or memories. Leaving a message for your son was a great idea..! Some 40+ years ago now I built my parents a 2" thick solid white oak dining trestle table, that table has seen so many family meals, birthday's, family get togethers, quiet newspaper reading breakfasts with my Dad and long into the night conversations with my Mom.. 🥲 Looking forward to seeing your next project.🙂

Got a bunch for you here. First of all, welcome back, miss your videos. No pressure. You confirmed what I have tried to explained to people. That fiished with color added do not soak into the wood like stains/dyes. And in regard to dyes, I think they work so much better than stains. I don’t see any lighting under that floating frame? He didn’t want any LEDs? LOL In regards to poplar, I have had great success with using stain on it. Every says to only paint it. All the woodwork and doors in our house are poplar, and it is all stained. Looks great. Bed look really nice. And the walnut shelves add a nice touch.

I love the floating design and the overall look of the bed, with massive headboard and walnut shelves. Combined with the dark stain, and the overall finish, it looks like an expensive designer piece. Showing and explaining the whole process, including the mistakes, is great and helps a lot in staying motivated. It can be quite difficult to learn to think in 3D, turning und flipping forms in your head. My skills in that area slowly improove, but seeing even big KZbinrs making mistakes is kind of comforting. Have you ever had issues with screwing down the slats when the wood expands and contracts or there's movement on the bed?

Three things. Fist, I love the face at or about 28:11 - I think that says it all 🤣 Second, I love to watch problem-solvers adapt and overcome. And Tamar seems especially gifted in relation to this - more so, I would think, than at least 95% of people (and I have worked with a few in about 50 years in the trade) And third, hands up anybody who has never had a "Nooooooooooo!!" moment. I'd be a wealthy man by now if I had but a penny for each one that gripped my spirit in an icy grasp and squeezed! Anyhow, yet another instructive, informative enjotable and interesting video. Which is aways par for the course.
