Toyan has been doing this awhile and gets big $ for this stuff. Blows my mind but they r all build on nitro fuel r/c style theory. Id like to see(& have few times) and actual 1 off custom mini engine built to run on gasoline or diesel. That would be cool. Maybe i duno 5times size of this. This super cool and something I know I would have a lot of fun building but $1000+ for a 14cc engine seems like an irresponsible purchase for me personally. I can see the manufacturers attention to detail, the beautiful packaging and quality which easily justifies that price. I just can’t see spending that much money on something like this. You can buy a cheap Chinese Honda Grom knockoff on Amazon for that price. The engine won’t be as good of quality but it does have enough power to pull a human. Great video!

Your concerns are correct, but this engine was made as a fun project or display piece. It was never meant to drive anything like an RC car or boat so you won't actually run it a lot. The drive shaft has no output to a clutch or gearbox. You could perhaps modify it to run something but it wouldn't be a good idea since the parts are not continuously lubricated as it runs.

I have an idea that I think would make this already awesome video just a little bit better…..label the pieces on the screen as you are putting them in/on. Not sure how much extra time that would take but I’d like to see the names of some of these pieces……at least some of the bigger/more main pieces. Love these videos though. Keep it up!

@@DIY-Garage Ah! So have I! 60 years ago I had just started, aged 15½, as an apprentice motor mechanic, working mainly on Austin and Morris cars with the A-type or B-type engine, both of which I later got to know inside out. Engines weren't nearly as reliable back then.

@@p19shelt No, engines in older cars needed much more maintenance than today. Perhaps it's due to better lubricants today, but also so much specialist equipment has been introduced over the years that enables more precise engineering tolerances and machining techniques. It's a shame that we reach manufacturing perfection and then the electric car arrives! With a 200 mile range, gosh! I see them parked at the Tesco charging station with the driver sitting in the vehicle for half an hour in order to get home. And this is progress?

That looks and sounds amazing. I may have missed something there, but once it's assembled, how does it lubricate? I saw oil and grease being applied during the build, but nothing that indicates that it has a sump or oil pan. Am I being a tad thick? Otherwise, I know what I'm asking Santa (or my wife) for this Christmas!

I would wash every single component of that before starting. You always have aluminum dust on everything. Threaded holes, recessed areas with tight corners, ect. The grey grit at the bottom of the flushing cup, after flushing,, will open your eyes. You create/grate a bit more if o-rings are installed dry and it's a tight fit. Be very generous with the assembly lube,,no matter the instructions,, that just show drops of oil. CRC QD electrical cleaner and compressed air until dry and clean. The CRC wont attack rubber components,, but will soften certain open cell foams. Use a magnifying glass to be sure your clean. Very cool little 4 popper. Thanks!.
