How often have you watched a model railway video on KZbin, simply awestruck at the creativity and craftsmanship on display? And then there's this one! This is the video of what happens when you try to actually do what those polished 'How To's suggest! And it's great fun. Fascinating series.

Definitely a certain amount of awestruck going on...😂

I think thats a great plan! Changing from a station to a casual countryside lakeview gives viewers a chance to relax from the busy stations on the other modules, while still being visually impressive. Its kind of amazing the board still mostly held together after all the cutting.

I genuinely can't believe how sturdy it still is

Another really good video. Everyone is making good progress. A brave decision but I think it will look really cool. :) Another way would have been to cut and place in high density foam rather than gluing back in the wood lower, then just carve straight in. One thing I was taught in prototype making (for desplay models) was that if it looks right, it is right. I'm loving seeing the progress and can't wait to see more. :) I'm loving seeing how the team is doing too :)

I do like a nice lake, so the coming parts should be very interesting 🤔 Don't envy Loz... that's a lot of building a pressure 😨

The traverser seems a neat thing. I made one myself some years ago, but it needed a lot of careful planing (full 3D design in Fusion 360).

If I had done the module I would have inserted a 009 gauge narrow gauge railway to run next to the 00 gauge standard gauge line. Also you need to address the situation going on with the fuel tablets you use for Mamod steam engines as they are to be banned as they are apparently explosive if used in huge quantities.

It may be easier take up your cork and add a 2.5cm layer of foam on top of your baseboard rather than cutting into it. The cork and trackwork would be affixed to this sub roadbed and your pond would be on the origional level part of the baseboard. Your section of the layout could be joined to your clubs at its new track level.
