And the darn glued dropper supports may just give up their grip, which will mean Lawrie will end up with a giant sinkhole instead of mine! Just for the pun, no malicious intent. Loved the creativity! Cheerio

Lawrie! If you only used Templot, or at least figured it out. You could have easily saved the trouble and printed/laser cut/milled out all the pieces except for the rail and not get caught up with cutting things too short! You’d also have had a printed out template to make sure you didn’t have any confusion, and better detailed track-work too. If I were so insane, I would do use Templot Plug Track every time, but I feel too tempted to make chairs, chair screws, fishplates, and fish bolts in metal for my big 00 (actually P4 gauge) layout, sometime in the future… I know, I’ve gone mad, but there’s still hope for you! I hope you found my rant useful, or at least entertaining!

wow, a great video. and ooo, some more members of the team. I was tempted with those signals but didn't know what they were like in practice. oh wow, that's a great addition to the layout with the 009, that will be awesome. and the rockwork behind the little 009 train is looking great. :) I'm really excited to see everything come together :)

@@lmm can't wait to see it all together. Eventually will you be doing a feature video of all the different things on the modules? Would be interesting to see a showcase of each module, and also a review of how things operate and so on. With people using different types of point motors and switching for example. :)

Brilliant work. Amazing planning. Reminds me of when I built my garden railway...the gradient of my terrace was more than I had eyeballed, which in combination with the necessary tight radius curve led to traction problems with some of the engines...🤭

LMM team: keep the layouts simple in design. Lawrie: make it ultimately complex but interesting. Well it is going to Statfold and narrow gauge is a must to honour its narrow gauge trains in the museum and outside.

@@lmmwell you see that’s a conservative estimate. Application of narrow gauge can lead to up to 50% increases in coolness but that’s typically only seen with rio grande K class engines 😉

When I was a little boy I had some H0 and H0e scale, I had and still has that Roco industrial narrow gauge locomotive and a bunch of open side dump trucks for it. from my teens and till this day i have collected N scale.

Lawrie can take the short pieces of HOn30/OO9 and put them down either underground or next to the full-size HO/OO layout as part of the scenery, after separating the rails and ties/sleepers to show the results or upcoming repair work on the track.

@@lmm good luck with the rest of the build, I don't know how how far ahead you are in real life but you can borrow a dehumidifier it will speed up glue drying times, thinking more so about ballasting and the current state of UK weather

A hot glue gun can get you out of a lot of trouble. Mainly because it dries hard very quickly!

this is totally unrelated, but could you fabricate your own track by 3D printing it and putting a ridge in each rail for a conductive wire to sit on the top and carry current?

Yes, that would be possible, though having the whole rail being conductive gives better chance of good connection
