1st off, I watched part 1 and 2.@jacobcochrane. I see what you are doing, but I have to critique some of the things you did. I,ve been a carpenter for 30 yrs. The 1st critique is wheres part 3? Never start something without finishing it. My second critique is the base seems to have a lot of unnecessary steps and some material that is being over used. Look, I think it's great you took the time to show people one way this can be done. However, if someone needed to build a cabin from pallets I would think it would be a person without much. Why not show us how to build it with as little as possible and with only hand tools? My opinion and critique of your video is just that. Don't let it stop you from doing what your doing, or make you angry. I am just saying it to say it, and asking to ask. Good luck your future videos, and endeavors on KZbin.

@@jacobcochrane They're free if you come and get them. I just went out and checked, ive got seven 3'x12' pieces and eleven shorter pieces they're all like 4'-5' long. Totally enough to cover the pallet cabin. I pulled them off a house that got demolished in Sequim years ago and they've been sitting on a pallet ever since. You can't have the pallet though, most of it became soil again.

Pretty cool! Feel like you might want some sort of siding to keep the insulation from molding or catching a spark. I don't think an awning will be enough to protect it from moisture. Maybe painter's plastic underneath some wood panels? Also, I know port angeles isn't exactly wildfire country, but the cardboard being exposed seems kind of like tempting fate with a bit of a fire hazard

For breaking pallets apart without breaking a lot of the planking invest into a tool called a Pallet Buster it worked the best and its the fastest way to break them a part the Tool is super easy to use. You can order the tool online or get one at Lowes or Home Depo it cost around 40 dollars 3 yrs ago it may be more now but still its not very expensive and well worth the money. I actually got my Pallet Buster of Market Place for 15 bucks. So keep an eye out on market place you may get lucky like I did. I really like my Pallet Buster I think you will like it too... Of course you can use a saw to cut the pallets apart but you can't get longer lengths if you cut the planks. I prefer to work with full length pallet planks. Also when cutting the boards you will lose a lot of the wood getting approximately 2 ft lengths out of your planking boards. I'm planning on doing a tiny house/cabin(s) with pallets for rental property. I live in the mountains of east Tennessee near the Great smoky mountains National Park lots of tourist look to rent overnight romantic rustic cabins rentals. See, we're also 2nd to Las Vegas in weddings. We have wedding chapels on just about every street corner on the mountain tops at the sky resort there everywhere. I always say people come her to get married check out the views get a tattoo eat pancakes and grab a few airbrushed tourist TShirts. Because we have wedding chapels, Tattoo shops, pancake restaurants and Tshirt shops everywhere everywhere you look you will see one or more of these places they're really everywhere you look. If you havent been to Gatlinburg Pigeon Forge area you should take a vacation there it is so beautiful here many trails to hike and waterfalls to see tons of things to do and all the pancakes you eat lol... its a great little town/area. I moved here from Florida because its so beautiful. I have a little piece of land on top of a smaller mountain with 360 view of the smokies property has been sitting for 20 yrs so I decided to finally do something with it. Me and my husband were going to build our dream home there but he passed away so Rental property it will be... Sorry for the long comment hope I didn't bore you to badly. I hope you find the info on the Pallet Buster is helpful. Hope your son's Cabin turns out as good as you imagine it to be. Best Wish, God Bless...❤

Great thought! I might release the same or similar video format at the end with a voice over so people who want a more educational experience can have that?
@normanormie3 ай бұрын
@@jacobcochraneit could be helpful to do a voice over but some people like the “Working on the House ASMR” to fall asleep to. So, there are a lot of ways that you could run with this idea. Ultimately choose what works the best for you. I feel like just putting a script over the vod would be the easiest but I’m also not an editor… soooo… do what works best for you. An example of what I’m talking about in my original comment would be to go look at Korean camping videos. They set up camp and do all of these things but it’s only ASMR/background music, and just the sounds alone are worth it. Then if your audience is awake and interested in learning thing then they can choose to read what is going on. I’m personally not a person who likes ASMR in the conventional food or makeup genre but I love ASMR that you can learn from and/or fall asleep to. Just an idea and maybe this helps.

@@jacobcochraneit comes down to whether you want to take the time to do an educational voice over for those who are just listening to the vod or an educational script for those watching it.
