Building a rock wall for the garden. Episode 1

This is the beginning of a long project. My plan is to build a rock wall about 8 feet tall with a big medieval gate in it. I'm reusing the stone which was originally the foundation for my home built in 1896 and has been sitting in my backyard waiting patiently to become something beautiful.

You know what would be cool? A Secret spot or cache in the wall that only you and the people you love know about, basically a fireproof safe spot with thumb drives of important documents and photographs, perhaps genealogical information, answers to questions that many years from now you may not be there to answer but you left behind with love, if your great grandparents left one behind in something they built you know you would definitely find it and check it out! It is up to you what you put in it, but I will tell you that a cheap pocketknife and a broken button are not much in the way of value unless they were great grandpas, then they are priceless beyond compare. This secret spot in the wall might be used for many generations, but what it really contains is love and not until you are very old do you realize it was the most important valuable thing in life, because the real stuff has no expiration date and never loses value, it truly is the one eternal gift of humanity.
