Like the table.Think of rounded corners, so you don't poke holes in your body. Shop looks very nice.

He better have his gutters piped away from his foundation w/ 4” Sch 40 PVC or he won’t hear the end of it! A full bubble of fall too! Haha, jk

Great work on the table. One thing that I would suggest is to round off the corners of the table surface. Running your pelvic area into those sharp metal corners will ruin your day.
@netposerx4 ай бұрын
First thing I said once he placed that table was "round those corners, or else the pain is coming".

New shop space was a complete surprise. I like your new table. Being steel and heavy no worry that it will walk away. I enjoyed the project. I love your drainage videos but I also enjoy your project videos as well. 👍

You are the third guy this month I’ve seen on KZbin build himself a steel bench, DieselCreek, Victory Outdoor now Gate City. I’m looking forward to the day I get a shop and build myself one of these bad boys!

You should wear a beanie when you weld to protect your head from UV and IR. Also a respirator while welding through pain/ rusted metal.

I was once told that it was a good idea to place a fire extinguisher close to each exit point. The new shop space looks really nice.

Yeah, put them where the fire isn't so you can get to them.

One thing I have learned when building work or welding tables is to space the bottom shelf up enough to either fit milk crates or 5 gallon buckets under. It’ll collect junk, but the junk will be contained.

Nice, now you need a Dragon Wagon (DW is a precision welding table with predrilled holes for clamps). I'd include a hepa(or high merv) intake filter on one side of the building & a hazardous-gas exhaust on the other side of the building [for brain & lung health]. Having a clean-air corner is important if you work alone. After some garage welding I experienced the 'Third-man-syndrome' once, the third-man got up & walked around a corner but luckily that dizzy event was on soft grass, though I didn't fall.

Awesome, awesome video!!! 👍🏽
@joeshmoe77894 ай бұрын
Great bench to work on, but no need to be pretty! The mats are nice, but I would've only put them where you walk and not completely under the benches or under the tables. I pick mine up when cleaning to allow condensation or dampness to dry from the floor or bottoms. Easy to remove when drilling or cutting metal to sweep concrete. You can cut them to fit around table legs so your feet can extend under the table.

btw i think the horizontal banding on this vid has to do with the lights being ever so slightly flickery. it’s possible that changing your frame rate from 30 to 24 could help.

Sparks from welding and cutting, and pieces of metal and dirt and stones from your boots will soon cut up your matting. All you need is to keep your feet off the cold concrete floor so wooden duckboards would be the thing for your comfort and longevity.

Don't weld over the mats. The best thing about the mats is they are easily replaceable as needed. Take your grinder and touch up the corners of the table to take off the sharp corners.

Using scrap steel pieces is a great idea. That's one heck of a heavy duty work bench. You've got a lot to work with as far as making modifications for anchoring power tools and jigs for holding pieces you're working on. The workshop is really nice but those foam pieces around the bench won't last long. With all the factories and businesses being put out of business some industrial floor matting should be available somewhere. Great video as usual, thanks.

So Much to see here.... New Shop...??? Congrats & So many questions... i kept looking out the windows, it seems like its built, Where ? i see buidlings/shed etc so it seems like its in the yard, out back heh. within the treeline rules out down the road in a buisness park off-site etc. Very nice looking & the door's are well done, Superb build on the Old New table very ingenious on the layout = Nobody will be running off with it. Cant wait to see more.

Nice table Shawn, it will hold up to anything you build, or repair on it. and i absolutely LOVE the new shop, that concrete floor looks brand new.. No more working outside, between multiple smaller buildings, now you can have everything out of the weather, under one roof, with enough room to work on anything in your fleet. Also i spied a couple ultra sonic cleaners, one huge one, those are Great i love mine. Great video as always!

I like how the table turned out. When cleaning large areas of metal like your table top, i have used a belt sander with good results. I also use a belt sander to clean up the welded seam in square tubing to make a finished paintable surface.

You may be able to flip your vise upside down and slid it in the other direction to store it.

Great new shop Shaun (you kept this quiet!) Do you have any videos of the move-in and setting it all up? Great to see how you are expanding - this new shop can host a lot of new content - but please also keep up with Drainage videos - which Jeremy and Ronald can co-host!

Having that "round" plate under the vice all wobbly like that would mess with my o.c.d.

I watch Diesel Creek's build, and watched yours, equally enjoyable. Maybe Farmcraft101 and Dirt Perfect needs new tables.... I like the mount on the vice. Maybe threaded collar/bung welded in the table to keep it in place when you're torqueing stuff on it. I think it was great content my friend. Be well.
