I had one a few years back I had it for about 2 year a friend had it before me but it died :( what the correct way to keep one so it doesn’t die do I need to have I filter or can I just change the water every week or two? And how big does the tank need to be can I use my 3 gallon one?
@lettuceforlife48275 жыл бұрын
Fatal Soldier you can use a 3 gallon with a betta but if you really want it to flourish go for a five gallon. I would definitely recommend a filter as a first time fish keeper. Also take some time to learn about the nitrogen cycle in fish tanks it’s super important. I recommend a betta as a fist fish but if you want to get a different fish there are so many options.

Gwendolyn Rice I’ve got my plakat betta in a 20 gallon planted jungle. Short tail bettas do really well in bigger spaces, this is a nice set up but you really can go from this size on up if it’s a short tail betta. I have chili rasboras, mystery snails, and neocaridina shrimp in with mine because there are so many plants that they can hide or get away from the betta if necessary. So it’s possible to have a schooling style fish tank with a plakat betta instead of just one fish in a smaller tank.

@Jagadeeshpottipati5 жыл бұрын
Hi.. you can actually use any rock from ur surroundings.. but there are certain exceptions you need to avoid. Because most rocks contain metals like copper and iron. So before you select any rock just pour a couple drops of vinegar on the rock and observe for a few mins. If the vinegar drop fizzes, that rock doesn't fit in the aquarium. If it doesn't.. you are good to use it after some decent wash. Having metal traces in ur rocks can alter the alkalinity of the water which harms both the plants and fish.
@glenncordova40274 жыл бұрын
I used rocks from the yard one time without cleaning or sterilizing them and they must have had eggs from tadpole shrimp because they hatched in my tank. Fortunately they're very good companions to the fish.
