The people I bought my piglets from told me that when the hogs get older they don’t mind being alone as much. They don’t like to share space or food, so that might be why. Good try though! It’s nice to see when people try to keep the well being of their animals forefront in their thoughts.

adult females form matriarchal groups with complex relationships and prefer this--they even care for and feed each other's wee wee wee ones--adult males, in the wild, are solitary and dangerous to young pigs and to other boars

My oh my....that was stressful for y'all, but so funny on this side of the camera. And the shot of his 3 sisters watching him coming back was priceless. I liked the little sled you made to move him first. That will surely come in handy if you ever need to move a pig or a few piglets in the future. Like if you sell one or two, you can sort them in the field into the cage sled and then drive them on back to the house to put in the buyers vehicle. Thanks for sharing this one. Have a Blessed day.

Love the sled!! Down here in Louisiana, we call that “Coonass Ingenuity”!!
@PatrickPoet8 ай бұрын
Sorry ahead of time, I'm trying to be sensitive but clear and helpful. Might choose to be careful with the word _coonass_ a word used to refer to Cajuns (from the French word conasse, meaning a fool). Some Cajuns are fine with it but others find it highly insulting. In general, if you don't know how a word will be taken it's safer not to use it, unless you don't mind insulting random people and not knowing that they're upset or judging of you. Like you I grew up hearing it commonly though. There's a lot of things I grew up with that I've gradually dropped. Believe it or not, when I was a kid on the Gulf Coast, it was common to hear the n-word used by whites who acted like anyone who didn't like it were being overly sensitive, like people should just not mind at all being insulted by them. Of course a lot of _them_ didn't want to be called peckerwoods (a pejorative word for white people, especially white men). Some of them embraced the word though. It's problematic in the same way, some find it insulting, some embrace it and there's no way to know ahead of time who you're insulting. Hope this is helpful.

Jason, your ingenuity is quite something, I like the way you tackle things 👍It is funny though, the whole Zeke macho thing, I guess he enjoys his space & knows his duties & doesn't want anything encroaching on it 😅. As my avatar shows the American & English flag, I'm a Brit in the US & sometimes get a little homesick. I found a vlog, "Off Grid Bruce" which is a Brit in Ireland. Listening to the british language is what helps with the homesickness. I recently started watching, but went back 2 years to see his family's story. It's lovely if you're looking for more homesteading. I'm sure it would help him too.
