What was the purpose of this video? Well, prior to 2019 I had never been to a trade show.. It's quite costly, hotels, travel, away from work, etc. I'm posting this so you can see what these types of events look like. They're fun to attend and check everything out, my favorite part is hanging out with those in the industry. I talked with a few of you guys who had watched the channel over the years and it was the highlight to our Anaheim Trip. Always rad connecting with you all. Hell, I’m surprised they even let you build your booth. The unions in convention centers are known for being positively mercenary in charging insane amounts with crazy work rules. The Las Vegas Convention Center is bad but nothing compared to the Jacob Javitz Center in NYC. I have a friend who worked for a large company that had to build and install several booths and setups for a national convention there. His job was to walk around with a pocket full of 100 dollar bills “tipping” people who represented the various trades to get his work done. Don’t get me wrong, they’d have done the work, but on their own time and you’d never get it finished in time. At the LVCC, after your convention is over and you need your cases and trunks to load out, if you don’t tip the crew leader, you can forget seeing your cases and pallets till the end of evening. They’ll tell you are on the list and they’ll get to you as soon as they can. The costs for conventions is mind blowing.

The two guys in black we had standing there were from the Union for the convention centers. It blew my mind, they were nice people but by no means were they capable of putting stuff together.. When I heard what they were being paid I was blown away. You're spot on here.

A comment on the affordable housing: It is easily possible. Even without laborers. It's just, that no one likes the consequences of the result. With the economy of scale and little to no variation in house designs, you could bring the price down to mostly land and material cost. But some would consider this communism, which it isn't, and spontaneously combust into a thousand pieces. It would be just the will of the market.

Residential Construction is 90% Hispanic, yet there is not 1 hispanic company invited to these trade events. Ive seen plenty of Hispanic construction related channels with a big Hispanic followings and none of them get any sponsorships or invitations to trainings by suppliers. Mind you they are citizens with licensed, insured and reputable companies. So tired of this gatekeeping crap in the construction industry.

I've got multiple Hispanics working for us, they go to trade shows with me if they choose to, most trade shows are lame. Stalin Lopez is one of the top content creators for rough framing right now and is doing BIG deals, has Huberwood working with him along with many other top brands and doing more views than most.
