Hi. If the rim has alternating left/right offset holes, which direction should the spoke go? If the hole is offset to the left, should that spoke go to the left flange and if the hole is offset to the right should that spoke go to the right flange? Thank you.

Is the process to change the bearings in these hubs the same as newer dt hubs?

Good afternoon I am assembling wheels on dt swiss g 540 rims, dt swiss champion straightpull 2.0 spokes. I didn’t find any recommendations regarding washers in the documentation for the rims, and I have no experience in this matter. Are they necessary in my case or not?

This is rather dated information so I thought I'd best ask - I have HX 1501 spline wheels, i purchased a spoke replacement kit and the proline nipple wrench for the hidden torx nipples. What other tools will I need to have at hand to replace a spoke please ? Is it just the correct spokey ?
@pgee70utube3 жыл бұрын
what is your recommendation on adding lubricant to the thread of the spoke? others have recommended adding some grease/chain lube to the spoke thread to prevent corrosion and to stop the spoke twisting as tension is increased.

Hi Peter and thank you for your message. I hope you had a good start in the new year 2021. Regarding your question, as we use on our own wheel builds every time DT Swiss Prolock Nipples ( those nipples have a pre applied thread locker inside ), we do not us grease or oil on the nipple threads. But to get the wheels easier build, we use some grease in-between the surfaces between nipples and rimbed. Enjoy your wheel building, Friso "DT Swiss".

I'm about to rebuild my DT HX 1700 wheel with a replacement HX 531 rim (rear wheel). Can you tell me what tension I should be aiming for? It says max 1200N but I presume that would be too much anyway? And just confirming, no lubricant required on the threads with the Prolock nipples? :)

In the DT Swiss H 1900 SPLINE® 30 27.5" Spoke kit, there are 8 spokes, 2 each of 4 different spokes. Could you explain why ..?

Hello, I have the XR391 rim with DT Competition spokes and 240 CL straightpull 2020+ rear hub. The rim has two types of holes: some are centered some are shifted to one side. DT calculator told me to by 306mm spokes. They are the same lenght to both sides of wheel. The question: which spokes should I connect to which holes? Do drive side spoke go to centered holes or to shifted holes? What is the orientation of a rim against a hub? Should shifted holes direction be to the drive side or to the non drive side? Thanks.

Hi Venz, the rim has a bigger surface on one side, this side needs to face towards the cassette. Kind regards, Christian, DT Swiss

I have rounded two Squorx nipples and the bike shops where I am have no replacements sadly. Can I use “normal” spoke nipples with the washers on my ex471
@dtswiss4 жыл бұрын
Hi Stijn, we have developed a specific nipple head to combine with our PHR washers it is called Pro Head. It exists as Squorx NPAH20150N0100 as delivered with the rim or you can use classic nipples from DT Swiss with Pro Head. For further information please get in contact with your local service center, you can find the contact details here: www.dtswiss.com/en/support/service-center. Kind regards, José, DT Swiss

Are the dt squorx only for bladed spokes?
@dtswiss4 жыл бұрын
Hi there and thank you for your message. We use the DT Swiss Squorx ProLock Nipples for all of our wheels. There is just one exeption, the BigRide wheels, as those rims are single wall. With the Torx tool mount on the inner side they offer more grip to lace up a wheel easily with to the right spoke tension. So in general you can combine and nipple with any spoke type. Have a nice week, Friso "DT Swiss".

Hello, Nice video! I'm looking for that flat-nose plier, can you guys help me out the brand? Kind regards, Nik
@dtswiss5 жыл бұрын
Hi Nik, thank you for the kind comment! I am not sure of the brand of the exact pliers in the video, but Knipex makes a very similar smooth jaw plier that works well for holding round spokes. Regards, Andrew, DT Swiss USA

@@dtswiss the only similiar looking pliers are - www.knipex.com/index.php?id=1216&L=1&page=group_detail&parentID=1369&groupID=1511 but they are actually too far from what's in the video...

Hi There We use one of those ones: www.knipex.com/index.php?id=1216&L=1&page=group_detail&parentID=1368&groupID=1500 Those are usually available in any Tool Shop. Friso "DT Swiss"

I have to true my Roval DT Swiss fussee 23 road rims, they are off about 1mm side to side, and just a hair up and down... Been through thousands of kilometers and they still are with me!! I do real long rides and these just feel incredible and super lite as well, they are on my Specialized Tarmac. And all spoke tension and adjustments have to be made from the spline!!! I think my best bet is to take them to a professional... Apart from the equipment this guy used, he makes it look so damn easy!!! But it's not!!!!
@dtswiss5 жыл бұрын
Hi, you can always contact our service center and they can give you a cost estimate to true your wheel. You find the contacts on our website. Kind regards, Christian, DT Swiss
