Dang, pretty heavy duty PSL/LVL lam, looks like fun. You should consider caulking between your foundation,sill seal, and bottom plate. Stops air leaks. Thanks for the video

The smaller screws are to suck in the beam. He can shoot in nails after for strength. The large screws are structural screws that can be used in certain situations to connect joists. They are stronger than structural bolts.
