Love it! I made one this weekend for my electric brew kettle. I didn't bother with the digital screen I figured I would just watch the temp. I made one cheap upgrade you might want to consider. I used a GFCI outlet switch combo. Adds a bit of safety and convienence as well as a nice clean install on the inside. Flipping a switch to kill the power is nice instead of messing around trying to unplug it. Thanks for the idea, loving the upgrade!

This might seem a bit strange but as an Englishman enjoy your no BS direct and comprehensive videos. Thanks!

Love it phillbilly. Not trying to knock you but you should stress that if you use more power,"amps" that you use the appropriate grade wire and components to match maximum power you could use. Thanks for video

Could you run 2 1650watt elements, or 2 2000watt elements on this controller if wiring was the right Gauge like 12 or 10ga?
@z135210 Жыл бұрын
Isn't 2000 watt not enough for that size? I think you'll end up waiting a long time for heat up.

Can you send information on purchasing the keg you have shown

I've purchased all these components and am ready to wire...however I notice the outlet in the video is wired backwards (the white wire is on the gold screw). Will this change the placement of the white and black wires on the controller?
@celt39659 ай бұрын
Answered my own question by reading the Amazon description. Connection position of the neutral and hot don't matter on this controller.

Have you ever looked at using a PID controller? These work off temp. I'm setting up an old broke oven in my basement to use to intall and remove case bearings in a dirt bike engine and was thinking one might work well for this.
@philbillymoonshine7356 Жыл бұрын
They work, i do prefer scr but PID gets it done very well.

It really isn't work, is it, if you are enjoying it so immensely as you obviously do. Love all the videos, love the progression from two chuckleheads making Taco Bell hot sauce wine to professional grade moonshining. May your still be ever cooking, and you be one step ahead of the lawman.

may I ask how long it takes your 110 volt element to come all the way to running temperature on a 15 gallon keg

I want to put a scr on my digi boil so i can get better control? The elements are off and on all the time, might be a good way to bypass the thermostat? $30 on Ebay i can get a premade scr rated up too 4000w

going eclectic soon. I need the Ferrule that goes in the keg. is it just a standard 2 inch Ferrule?
@philbillymoonshine73562 жыл бұрын
Yes 2 inch but if you were to weld it you would need one with a longer neck i will try to find you a link.

Is this for 110 or 220 volts?

Man, please share a link to that "2-inch clamp screw-on-heater element" thingy!
