Sorry for low video quality. I don't know what happened. It was uploaded at the usual 720p. I will try to troubleshoot and avoid this next week. Thanks for watching!

Looks like fun. That tiny prop pulls it through the air surprisingly well.
@AeroCraftAviation
@AeroCraftAviation 4 жыл бұрын
Yeah it does. These small, high-KV brushless motors struggle to turn large-diameter, thin-bladed props, but they can punch out a lot of thrust with stout, wide-bladed props. Especially with three-or-four bladed props. This does make sense, seeing as they're built for use in tiny race quads.

Seems like a really small prop, although it does have 3 blades so maybe it all evens out. Would be interesting to run this on a watt meter and see how the power system can be optimized.
@AeroCraftAviation
@AeroCraftAviation 4 жыл бұрын
Yeah these smaller, high KV brushless motors have a real hard time turning larger props. I bought some 85mm props for this one but the motor kept overheating in test runs so I had to downsize. It's best to have lots of blade area very close in on the force moment. That would be interesting. I bet it's pretty inefficient with only that little 25C 1S. I presume there's a good deal of resistance at the high end of the discharge capability.

I couldn't figure out why your face looks so familiar, but now I know. You look a bit like Andy Samberg :p Bring a bit of modeling clay out on the fields for quick cg corrections ;)
@AeroCraftAviation
@AeroCraftAviation 4 жыл бұрын
Haha oh yeah I guess I kinda do. Well, I usually bring some lead with me to the field. In this case I didn't bother because CG was pretty close, but I suppose i could've put a couple grams of lead on there to bring up the CG. I should switch to modeling clay though. The lead requires a cutting tool and CA glue.
