Oh man, I love it. You've gotta get your players to craft stuff they want in game. It's the best. I played an L5R game once where we had to fortify a village and so in order to do that, we had a session where the GM had a ton of crafting materials and just said "Ok, what do you build to defend the village?" We built fences, a lookout tower, a bridge, stakes to protect ditches and stuff. Then he took all that, painted it up and next session knew exactly how to run our defense strategy of the village.

This reminds me of the dollshouses my grandad made for his children and grandchildren. I used mine as a homebase for plastic trolls, and possibly also plastic dinosaurs.

at the beginning it looked like just another big terrain house, but then it had interiors, then it had 2 levels of interiors, then the interiors were decorated too, and then there was an actual electrical instalaction done to the house too. quite impressive

A huge mansion with a furnished playable interior and working lights is top tier crafting. Making a screen accurate replica from a video game drives it well beyond that. Another great video, and goes to show with a little ingenuity, some fine looking double corrugated boxboard, and of course the medium graphics chipboard, you know the stuff you find at the back of a legal pad, you can make some wonderful things! (really have to consider getting some of the full sheet sticker paper, definitely would make things a lot easier!) Always a pleasure to watch and learn from Wyloch!

Great build, the LED's looked painful but toally worth in the end. Now, craft a ton of other furniture and decor, place them in a furnishing shop, and let your players spend in game gold on them, lol. Also, a manor attack would be an awesome combat sequence with this as a big set piece.

Tip for roof shingles ... scissors with patterned edges ... like pinking shears will make triangle edges. Faster than what you are doing too.

Awesome stuff. Im about 80% done with a similar build. Its a lot sloppier. I made the walls come down from the floors, with half inch psuedo walls inside (more visable in play, dont need to make windows and wall decorations inside)

Yo, I saw that thumbnail on my KZbin homepage and I thought that was an actual house!! I didn't even realize it was just a diorama until I noticed it was wyloch's armory and just HAD to click because I was so blown away by how dang good this looks 😁 Do you mind if I make this specific piece myself for my sister and brother-in-law's personal use? They play dnd with their group at least twice a week, and I've been wanting to get into making dioramas and modular pieces to surprise them with once I'm done with what I want to make 😊 Also, as someone who's done art as an occasional hobby my whole life, I FELT THAT when you described how you've agonized over getting the colors right when it comes time to paint them 😂😂
