Worst part is over. i HATE working with fiberglass cloth... as the epoxy starts to set... it can get messy! with that said, A lot of youtuber plywood tanks leak... this one's gonna hold! Id build it the same way. Mine dont leak. Cross bracing needed, but obviously that goes on last. The single most important part is the seems. Give them extra love! Reach out if you get stuck on something. I always love to live through others peoples builds and watch them be successful! I got no complaints on this build so far. You can borrow my crown for this one! glad you are getting some hands on experience doing this. Keep spreading the knowledge!

Thanks Joey! Much appreciated! Fiberglassing is 100% a pain in the a$$. lol I’ll reach out if I need help forsure. Respect for that offer! Thank you for your feedback and support! I’ll definitely keep spreading the knowledge as well as my mistakes and successes! Thanks for temporarily sharing the crown 👑 👊🏾

I work with fiberglass in the collision repair industry for years. I’d recommend getting a “slower” hardener/activator as you will open up your work time with the product. That will allow you to make more than just a cup at a time. More like a quart at a time and you’ll have less down time mixing tremendously speeding up your process. Also a cheap 5 inch electric DA sander with vacuum hookup with cut down on sanding time and dust mess.
@TheFishCornerАй бұрын
I’m using a slow hardener. 💯 i don’t have the sander with vacuum connector but I do have a sander and vacuum 😅

Thank you Brotha, I’ll check you out and subscribe. I appreciate you, I’ve learned from fellow creators as well. Each one teach one, this is my very first plywood aquarium build, I’m learning so much from this, the next ones will be effortless. If you ever need any advice on anything, I’m here. 💯🫡

Awesome project! How are the fumes from the epoxy??? Wondering how you are going to install those big pieces of glass... Best of luck Cleveland, we're rooting for you!
@TheFishCornerАй бұрын
Thank you. I appreciate it! The fumes aren’t that bad. And as for the glass. Lift it right over the top of the tank. I appreciate your support!
@SgtBFGunnerАй бұрын
@@TheFishCorner I mean, your going to silicone them to the inside face of the tank? I thought they would be inset somehow. Can't wait to see her filled up and running. 👍🏻
@TheFishCornerАй бұрын
@@SgtBFGunner Exactly, they’re getting siliconed to the inside of the tank. I just don’t think they’ll fit through the window opening. This is why I haven’t added the top braces, because the glass will usually go in through the top.
@PyrosPelagicsАй бұрын
good advice, im following this is good stuff. youre doing right though, a little bit at a time.. being patient to do your test areas and see how they turn out.. i love doing fiberglass, bondo, etc but that time limit will give you anxiety to mess up.. and with that mind set people will try to do too much in too little of time.. then you done wasted your expensive product and messed your project up. I dont know anything about building plywood tanks, but you coulda took a plywood and coated it with resin, then fiberglass, then resin on one board.. then do the method others do where they resin on top of fiberglass on the plywood.. let it dry then take them outside and punch or kick them and see which one holds up lol 🤣🤣

Thank you for your support. The first day was an excellent teacher, the second day was just as impactful. Biggest lesson is that speed isn’t always your friend. Slow and steady wins the race too.
@WihnursOnlysАй бұрын
the inner wood pieces within the corners and seams are something i never seen before. Curious, why did you add those to the inside of the build?
@TheFishCornerАй бұрын
As I mentioned to support the seams
@danielvelez4001Ай бұрын
Just trust the process your doing a hell of a job😂😂😂

Is that monster 👹 tank going to be for salt water or fresh 😂😂❤❤
@TheFishCornerАй бұрын
Temporarily fresh but eventually salt.
@jackweston7530Ай бұрын
you should be done by now
@TheFishCornerАй бұрын
lol. Should but not. I haven’t touched the build since I finished the last video.
@petergardea2266Ай бұрын
IMO...I think you created to many leaking points by having the wood brace like that on the inside. I think those should've been concealed and you would've have flat surfaces all the around. You had the right idea in the early parts of the build and then those interior things. Should've went with the cleaner look. Your definitely going to have to take special care with all those seamed areas...

Wouldn’t it be easier for you to sand all the plywood on one side before you assemble the tank so y could do it outside
@TheFishCornerАй бұрын
Nope.
@littledemon5690Ай бұрын
@@TheFishCorner thought it would be better as it does create a lot of dust then you wouldn’t have to cover anything
@TheFishCornerАй бұрын
@littledemon5690 Covering the tanks was nothing. But the sanding comes after using wood filler to fill the screw holes. The screw holes comes after putting it together. There’s no way to get around doing it this way. But like I mentioned, covering the aquariums is beyond easy.
