The motherboard usually has the risers and screws for the NVMe's

Yup was just about to say that so that’s where I’m assuming they found them

Depends on the mobo. Ive built like 20 PCs so far and 2 or three didnt have them. That being said they are hella cheap on amazon for like a 10 pack. Also I cant even remember which ones didnt have them. The higher end boards always have them if not extras.

I suggest you put the top fans as exhaust since you have a radiator up top so that you're fans aren't sucking HOT air from the radiator
@khanikun25873 жыл бұрын
I would have had all the fans as exhaust. No intake fans. That way it pulls air in from the bottom of the case, where the filter is at. The 3 fans inside the case are pretty much useless, aside from bling and space filler. It would look pretty weird without something there. I would have put the 140mm fans on top of the case as exhaust, then mounted the rad where the 3 fans are. Then could have avoided buying other fans. I'm guessing the dual 120mm rad setup was picked for a different case, not this case which has support for a triple 120mm rad.
@warlockdude123 жыл бұрын
thats not how it works lol its better for your radiator fans to pull cool air in throught the radiator instead of hot air from the case.
@khanikun25873 жыл бұрын
If you think it's better, than you simply don't know. Both have advantages and disadvantages and with her setup, having it exhaust would be the better solution. Build your cooling solution around your build. Seeing as everything in her computer is aircooled minus the cpu, it'd be best to not be dumping warmer air over the vram, gpu, memory, etc. The CPU is literally the only piece of equipment with proper thermal protections, while everything else will just break if it gets too hot. She's got more than enough case airflow that the temps inside her case is probably close to, if not the same as ambient air temp in the room. I doubt setting it up as intake or exhaust would make a bit of difference. Because of that, I'm just looking at case cleanliness, where exhausting it would keep dust down. There is no one way to do it, you need to tailor to your build. I can tell you, your suggestion would literally destroy my file server. It's got 12 hdds and I have to get the heat out, not dump more in. If I did what you suggest, I'd overheat the hdds and they'd start failing.

It's so empowering to build your own computer and I'm delighted you're learning about them. It's complicated but by no means impenetrable, or terribly difficult. You are right, the time to buy is when you need it because a cheaper yet better component is always in the pipeline. There is only one reason for intake fans: the look of the RGB if you have your heart set on having them. Laboratory testing has demonstrated no additional cooling at all simply because the exhaust fans are not going to create a partial vacuum in the case so air will rush in to replace what's blown out. BTW, you chose excellent parts although I haven't checked out the Corsair NVME drives yet. 😊

cool to see a computer :) Also have a gaming pc :) Well worth it so, never had any issues at all and 1,5 year in :) I spent like 1.022 USD but if I have bought it from a store it would have been like 2.165 USD :)
@khanikun25873 жыл бұрын
You're right the first time. It's a mid tower, just expanded sideways to be more of a cube. Easiest way to tell is a mid-tower is just slightly larger than an ATX motherboard. A full tower, is closer to 2 feet or larger. Like standing the motherboard up, then standing another motherboard on top of it.

If you move those RGB fans above the radiator to the bottom of the case as intakes your graphics card will run much cooler and you'll be able to see the fans, you can mount the SSD on the power supply side of the case so its out of the way 🙂
