Never thought this city girl, born and raised in Los Angeles, would be living in Kentucky and watching a video about laying down a farm row, yet here I am. I was fascinated! Although I grow flowers on a small scale just for personal use, I really enjoy learning about the inner workings of a production farm. I remember seeing large agricultural fields on our drives up the California coast to see my grandmother in Ventura. I was always so curious about the long rows, the long tunnels, etc. I would see. It's so interesting to watch these types of videos because it demystifies it for me and gives me a new appreciation for what farmers do to produce the end product we all enjoy. Thanks for sharing this!

I was surprised when I was a buyer at the biggest wholesale flower auction in Canada where I learned retail sales of flowers are lowest in the summer when demand for flowers falls off substantially. My point is small flower growers grow and try to sell flowers at a time when demand is at its lowest. So much work and the only way to make a profit is by branching out and making content or working another job to support a flower farm.

Meanwhile...back at the farm!! So nice to see bed prep..and I love that equipment! The drip lines will make it so much easier for you. I didn't know it could do that! I'm still burning holes in reusable plastic..but I only need a small amount compared to you. That being said; I wouldn't mind trying the 360 but I can't make all those rows by hand. I hope you get some planting done ...raining here ,too, next several days . Good Luck!!

So exciting! So happy you have that tractor! I'm so excited you have drip now! I have drip for my raised beds vegetable garden & my cutflower farm, but I have a lot of elbows & yes & things I'm going to have to take a whole day probably & lay Enright out, make all the cuts, etc. But it's going to be so nice to not have to spend an hour or more a day watering in all the direct sown seeds or new transplanted transplants (until they're nice and rooted in) 🙏

OK that was just plain impressive. There’s nothing else to say other than I’m very happy for you and I hope everything continues to work out and as I said very impressive. Good job Brad and maybe smile a little bit more man. after being married for 32 years, you will realize there’s nothing more important than your wife and the love that she has for you and you will be more than willing to do whatever she need you to do and be very happy doing it. I know how it is to be you all’s age and you hussel and bustle, and all the craziness of working and doing the farm and all that stuff, it’s hard to smile sometimes but trust me there’s gonna come a time and that’s all you can do is smile, knowing that you have a wife that loves you by your side believe me it will happen I promise .

So happy to see some FHF footage!! With the drip tape, what happens if it clogs? I guess if it moves around with the water pressure, it is what it is? I don't have drip, but I see so many people using staples to anchor it. That bed maker is drool worthy for sure. I won't discuss how long it takes me to prepare a bed. 😂 Yayy for flower season!! So excited to see what else you have in store for the farm!!!

Wow! That is absolutely fricken amazing! This is going to help you out so much with your time from having to water and weeding! I can’t wait for the flower plantings and see how it all works! Maybe the only other thing that I would do is go buy some landscape fabric or some straw and lay in between the rows to really cut down on the weeds there! I have the 25 year kind and it’s awesome and very thick almost like material. I know it comes in 50 feet for sure but idk about 100 ft. I am sure there probably is some out there somewhere.

Woohoo! I’m so glad you have automated tools to make your garden beds ready so quick and easy. If you plant your lisianthus out now, what would you do if you have a frost? My poor lisianthus are still in their original cell trays. Thanks to your advice last year, I’ve successfully grown First Love and Champagne lisianthus from seeds and had good germination. I’m hoping I get them growing in the garden, but my last frost date is the end of May.
