It's not due to shutter, but the human eye does have essentially a chemical refresh rate. So you can see that effect even without strobing. But to a lesser degree.

Drill some small drain holes upward from the bottom of the lights, keep a few toothpicks in the glove box to clean them when they clog up. Eyes do actually have a frame rate and it's down to the reaction time of the light cones in your eye, when you are fatigued or stressed they generally react more slowly. Erik's puttying method is the classic, at least that's the way my dad taught me. All the best guys.

I prefer an older vehicle myself. I spent three years actively looking for an older Cadillac. Such a nice luxury car, gas mileage not that bad, 78K miles, 1990, $3,000. I have had many younger "kids" tell me they really like it. It's a deVille so I named her Cruella.

I think the frame rate illusion is at night under a light. The light is actually pulsing fast (60 times a second) but appears solid to humans. It can make a wheel appear to spin backwards.

In Switzerland we use a brush sander a lot, to get the appearance of old wood! Depending on client we stain it to look like old wood, recuperated from old (100 year buildings) which is 4 more expensive but get an immediate look of old wood. Even the local sawmill has this tool and you can order wood brused and then staining it or let nature and sunlight do the work! Love your channel!

I built my previous house and hired 2 brothers install the cabinets and put #2 pine T&G on the high ceilings. Every board had a stamp mark. These guys thought it would be fine and hung the boards with the stamp marks out on half of them. They set a rolling scaffold up and I made them sand off every stamp. It turned out really nice. I later found out the younger wild hippy brother had an affair with the clean cut brothers wife and they ran off together as an aside. lol

Nothing makes me more irate than people that do dumb shit like that. Pay attention to what is going on for Christ sake. There's a nice log home near me and the gable end has an lvl for the outside rim board. And of course it has Roseburg lumber and all the other stuff written in black paint. They just stained right over it. Drives me crazy. Million dollar home that looks really good with nice mountain views and nice land and you get those kind of "details" with the framing/trim. At least sand it. Nope stain will hide it

Use a wood conditioner first when staining pines/softwoods especially your milled types of boards to make the grain pop where it’s going to. Then you can sand, reapply it, and wipe off the excess after 10-20 minutes and then apply your finish to the wood.
