Love the attention to detail of this kit. I can’t pretend to know the game/TV show but certainly took me back to my old PC days! The beige of the 90s takes me back to that smell of warm capacitors and all those gamma rays pouring out of my 19” CRT into my face. Great build Ladyfractic. Love the BG music too!

Cool! I got this kit for my birthday about a month ago. Assembled it with my son. Really nice, and generally really high quality. This is actually the third Pantasy kit we've built along with the TV and Astro Boy. Only complaint is they need to be a little more careful with the parts. Astro Boy was fine, tho the optional light kit was a bit tricky to install as the wires weren't quite long enough to route as shown in the instructions. The TV had a part that was the wrong color (ran out of what it called for but had extra in a different color), but we were able to bury it out of sight. The PC was the hardest, as it was completely missing a piece that was part of the hinged back of the monitor. Actually had to modify a Lego piece to finish. But everything else is top notch - the designs, quality of the moldings, and instructions (even with no English, I think they're better than Lego!) I do wish they had downloadable PDFs of the directions - my son and I build together working on sections in parallel so having separate copies of the manuals is handy. We requested a PDF and they did send one, but it was about a week after we finished. Should just be online. But I'm still really happy with the end result and look forward to more from them!

Hello Ladyfractic, I'm excited to join you on this Lego-style brick build from Pantasy. The combination of a classic Windows 98 PC design with retro video game and TV scenes from Chinese Paladin sounds really interesting. I'm a fan of both Lego and gaming, so this project is right up my alley. Love the way the Lego bricks bring the Windows 98 PC to life and how the scenes from Chinese Paladin are incorporated. It's a great way to merge creativity and gaming nostalgia. Thank you.

Ask a younger me if he would like to see an assembly video of someone building a Lego kit as a form of entertainment and he would probably have laughed. However, watching Ladyfractic and hearing her soothing voice whilst fighting the urge to dance to Perifractic's incredible soundtrack whilst viewing the whole thing at an accelerated speed would have definitely changed his mind. This was an awesome build Ladyfractic, but does it play Doom, or maybe Quake? You'd probably just need another screen insert made to swap out with the Windows '98 screen. Excellent production and edit Perifractic, and it's always good to hear your voice added at the end of the episodes, along with your physical presence as well. This felt like a really family-oriented recipode. P.S. "As Fast as I Can" is beginning to become an earworm in my mind. I'm probably going to be hearing it playing in my sleep.
@RetroRecipes Жыл бұрын
Thank you for the kind words, Michael! The Doom/Quake insert would be a very good addition. As for production and editing, Peri and I each produce and edit our own videos until the very end where we watch them together and do a final pass through. So thank you for the compliment! - Ladyfractic

Hi Mike. I keep seeing your comment popping up about stealing Lego, and it really made me think. After some googling, it turns out the Lego name is a trademark but their interconnecting bricks are no longer patented as it expired in 1978. Many companies have used the shape since then and even you too MikeUK can come out with your own version of MikeUK bricks and it wouldn't be stealing. As for the quality, they feel almost the same.- Ladyfractic

Hi Retro Recipes, i love your videos, i saw your video "why i'm retiring my amiga, the keyboard failing and the capslock flickering is typical for: the "Byte bandit virus". Its a virus on the amiga computer itself, One or more of your disks must be infected, when you turn off the computer and back on again it must be fixed, but if you load the infected disk again, the keyboard will fail again. I hope it was just the virus, so you dont have to retire your amiga, best regards, Van onderen. P.S.: i had the virus long ago, and i got rid of it by formatting some infected disks.

Not official LEGO set, but a chinese rip off. Propably someones MOC design from rebrickable. I'm not supporting this.
@RetroRecipes Жыл бұрын
Lego has a trademark for their name but the patent for interlocking bricks expired in 1978 according to google. Since then, there have been many companies that have sprung up in the last 30+ years using the same shape and design. It's okay to have brand loyalty but none of those companies are doing anything illegal. As for the rebrickable claim, can you show us the design you're saying they probably copied? We couldn't find anything like it when doing due diligence before accepting the product from them. Looking forward to your reply.
@-CrippledNinja- Жыл бұрын
@@RetroRecipes well, that wasn't the response I wanted. Just to make clear, there are pirated designs. And most are from rebrickable. Because chinese never make anything original these days. I know, I've worked with them. But you can be sure this design is not original. And yes, I do know the patent has expired long ago.
