As long as the hanger is open, I get to see an A-26 every morning on my way to work. Looking forward to watching this project!

I remember that trip to Castle Air Force Museum, holding that rod up for measurements. Nice to see it finally paid off.

Excellent video Dr. budzik. I guess I’m not the only one who struggles with “finished is better than perfect”.

I love this approach to modelling for the sake of trying something to see what will happen, and then later wondering if anything practical will arise out of it. I'm even more captivated knowing that you are making a video series about it and look forward to it!

Great to see you back Mr Budzik, I hope you’re well. Your video made me smile as I noticed the glaringly obvious inaccuracies in the ICM kit when a friend proudly showed me the kit he’d bought. “Best A/B-26 kit on the market this is!” He let me take the kit home to peruse and evaluate, but when I pointed out the nose and the turret issue (via some photos in books I have) he was somewhat deflated. ICM have come along way, a very long way, but they still need to travel further. Excellent video. Be well.

I’m blown away. I spent the last two days doing nothing but assembling my ICM A-26 and being happy as a pig in mud. After pushing hard and gluing the very last sub assembly together, the very last one, i stop for a drink and KZbin break. Alas, i see this video, uploaded ONE HOUR AGO. My drink has upgraded into something alcoholic.

Don’t allow this video to spoil your joy is my message. I too am very happy with my ICM and found it an enjoyable build, far more than the ancient and ill fitting Monogram kit . I noted the kit inaccuracies through a couple of reviews, but they weren’t enough to put me in a tailspin, plus I want to build more than 2 kits a year! Whilst I appreciate some people like Paul are all about the accuracy, and I enjoy what he brings to the table, accuracy is not the biggest selling point for me these days. If I can live with the faults it’s all good. There are many ways to enjoy the hobby

ICM kits are brilliant kits. That is, they're great to assemble. I think we all too often overlook accuracy to the prototype when we're spoilt with ease of assembly, crisp moulding, fine detail etc. We've become kit-sssemblers and painters rather than modellers in the true sense. I'm easy though. As much as I want accuracy, my enjoyment is in the painting and often diorama setting. I can overlook some inaccuracies. That said, I totally understand the frustration of modellers who, having waited in some cases for decades for a new tooling, made with modern day design and machining, get a suboptimal kit in the area that should be the easiest to get right in this day and age: dimension.

It’s been too long since I came across your video and I have missed your insights. Love the A-26 and I have a dozen kits that I have collected over the years. Would you recommend kit bashing the Monogram and ICM kits? Thanks for your videos and tips.👍

nice - I remember reading a build review of the ICM and being deeply disappointed - (after the excellent german trio, hopes were high) - I've both too in the stash..... so very intrested indeed.

Unfortunately ICM are cutting too many corners when it goes about accuracy. Too often they are simplifying the forms... Or get it simply wrong. Nice to hear from you again!

I'm chuckling. The ears of the internet suggested this video the same day ebay delivered a 1/72MPC A-26 and He-177. Decals are in a sunny window.

Hello sir. Have you seen the 1/18th scale aircraft from Hobby Boss? I've seen videos on KZbin and they seem like the scale would offer a huge oppurtinity to add great detail.

I always thought the Monogram A-26 fuselage shape was the biggest of its problems?? With the ICM being much better?? In any case, my biggest gripe with the ICM A-26 is the canopy sill line. It's much too high, making the canopy too shallow/squashed. Following the canopy sill line backwards, I think the wing position is also off (too high) on the ICM kit....
