The Hauler is the first upgrade from the Sidey as it takes all of it's components. It's the cheapest jumper out there, but it isn't very rugged. Nice reminder cmdr.

I use a 65ly jump range Dolphin for long distance travel inside bubble, Dolphin is the only ship in the game that can charging FSD and scooping fuel at the same time without overheating, therefore it can jump right after FSD cooldown, saves a lot of time. I also have a little Viper for short distance travel, engineered for 895m/s boost speed (with enhanced performance thrusters) and 44ly jump range, I use it to escape mass lock as fast as possible. I don't consider rebuy cost a problem when you are experienced enough to fully engineer a ship and bubble taxis cost no more than 1 million to rebuy.

The hauler is ok if you are new ONLY. If you have the money just purchase a Krait Phantom or a Diamondback Explorer.

I mean it will only save you 40seconds when you occasionally need to make one more jump in a Hauler vs a DBX etc. Not a big deal

You missed the opportunity to strip the shields and downsize the fuel tank so that the Hauler can reach its full potential of 69LY. . . Personally i run a compromised version of this build with enhanced thrusters, 2T extra fuel and a heat sink so i can be faster in SCO supercruise and real space too

Cuts about 4LY of range, and while they do push 700m/s while fitting within the 2D power plant with g5 dirty tuned drag drives, I hope you like pushing 50% heat when throttled up. Stripped-down couriers are the premier choice for a high-speed ship with a good jump range.

The Hauler is a great ship. I get my Noobies into one in about 20-30 minutes in the E Grade Sidewinder. I normally do xenobiology near the bubble in the awesome Courier. I got one of my young apprentices to hot rod his hauler with Enhanced Performance Thrusters for a fun activity to step off the grind of "The Path" and I joined him in mine for solidarity. It's awesome. Most of the qualities of the Courier with an even better jump range and smaller landing footprint. You do have to take more care with your fuel though. One and only time I ever had to call the fuel rats. So embarrassed. Best to travel KGBFOAM if going any distance in this ship o7
