Brilliant. An excellent job that looks absolutely stunning. Last year i built a 21 foot rowing scull and finished the inside with a two part varnish. It had good gloss but felt a little rough to the touch. After a lot of experimenting i tried using clay bar on it (as used by automotive detailers) which transformed it. The paint came super smooth and those little air bubble marks virtually disappeared. You may have no need for it but i can strongly recommend it although i have never tried it on single part varnish. It is also cheap and very quick to do.

Josh, simply spectacular! Quick figuring: 1050 hrs labor @ $60= $63,000+ $11,300 materials= $74,300 cost. When you consider your skill level has a far greater value then $60hr and if you ADD $1.00 for every hr you researched and ran each process and task through your minds eye, this is a Million Dollar boat and looks like a 2 MILLION DOLLAR Boat. I followed it almost from the start. Chalk it up to one of your life's accomplishments! Good luck with your family and life. Respectfully Pappy

Nice machine! Now that you have used it more than once could you please tell us what you think! For an older motor it looks like you have tuned it very well indeed and runs great. It also looks like it is plenty fast. You had 4 people aboard and the boat was still planing at half hull. I would like to hear what people who have seen your boat think. Also if you have the time, take it to a boat show. Again it is a splendid machine! I would not change a thing. The motor for being so old sounded like it ran like a top! You sir are a TRUE CRAFTSMAN! My hat is off to you. In your last update of this project please let us know what you think and tell us about the performance of the boat! Again OUTSTANDING BOAT well worth the time, effort, expense and your skill.
