Hey have you considered using an inflatable spa? They retail less that 1k with a filter/pump/heater. I'm starting to look in to what is needed to make it work. Just seems like a real it cost effective way to do it
@blakedunham5998 Жыл бұрын
Do they make these 7-8 feet across? If so, it could work. My experience I wouldn’t go a cheep rout like this. It much more work to maintain and deal with. Id look for a used tank online. But if your dedicated you’ll make it work:)

thanks for the video. what voltage do the heating pads operate at? Do you have some sort of surge protection to protect against any issues if they come into contact with water?

How much was the entire project? How fast does it heat up with the snow mat? And can you control the temp?

Will float tank water freeze if the tank was an outside kind of situation?

love your problem-solving solutions! ...your logo is very cool btw! May I ask, where did you find your custom clear liner?
@blakedunham599810 ай бұрын
Thank you. I got it from PollyfabricsCO. (At least I’m 90% sure of it.) I Searched my email and it’s my best guess. Id reach out to this guy and ask:bob@polyfabrics.com. They didn’t make it very thick at the time. I would put another thick liner underneath or get 2 clear. Also might lookup how to weld pond liner. They have a special tool that melts it together. Seems simple, but I’ve only watched videos of it.

This is pretty interesting, thank you. How are you planning on lifting the geodome for entering and exiting?
@blakedunham5998 Жыл бұрын
Sorry for slow reply. It has a small door that opens upward. Only used it for about 1 year. Really should have used fiberglass on the inside
@trackerbuckmann1627 Жыл бұрын
It's probably better that the dome is smaller so the condensation won't drip to the outside. The only downside is that it might make noise by falling down and dripping from a distance making a splash.
@blakedunham5998 Жыл бұрын
If i where to make it again I’d use fiberglass and round the insides. Unless you have a heated roof most tanks will drip. Cheep way to fix it is to wipe the ceiling down before a float. Most things have a flat roof so you can use a small squeegee.

I hope it's still ok to text you about a couple of questions about a diy tank. We will definitely tip you!! We have a tank on the way, the heating mats you mentioned, and a huge pile of epsom salts already. Just trying to figure out the whole filter thing...

Hey brother. I really appreciate your advice and support. I’d love to have some further input from you based on your experience. Such as a a detailed list of components you recommend using for the heater, pump etc.

Hey the snow heaters I used are snow melting mats. They are a bit more then waterbed heaters but totally worth it. Iv been running these for 5 years with no issues. Here is the thermostat I use. It has humidity control and temp control: Inkbird Temperature and Humidity Controller ITC-608T Pre-Wired Dual Stage Thermostat 120VAC 15A 1800W ETL Listed Mushroom Greenhouse Homebrew a.co/d/ewSbcC0 If you only want temp control I’d use this one: Inkbird ITC-308 Digital Temperature Controller 2-Stage Outlet Thermostat Heating and Cooling Mode Carboy Homebrew Fermenter Greenhouse Terrarium 110V 10A 1100W a.co/d/8tBmdEu Also look up ink bird thermostat on Amazon. You might find something you’d Louie better. They have sone you can monitor from your phone. Are you looking for a commercial style filtration or personal??

What do you use to sterilise the tank?H Peroxide or Ozone?How long do you pump/filter the water?What is your opinion on the Zen Float Tank(I'm not sure if you purchased the Tank or the Tent?Greetings from the U.K.
@blakedunham59983 жыл бұрын
Hi, i had the original zen tank for about a year. and it started coming apart at the seams. the filtration was garbage. there fix to the solution to this problem was adding another pump witch i feel was a lazy solution. there new tank looks better but still would build a basic cheep and ugly tank over buying the new zen. iv always used H2o2 and UV. my pump is way over sized . only needs to run 10min or so in between floats. also use non chlorinated shock about 2x per month. definitely build your own tank! you will know how to fix it when things go wrong. my other best option is to buy a used oasis tank. they are all fiberglass and amazing!

@@blakedunham5998 I am so new to this whole thing. Thank you for the video. Would you mind sharing exactly which H2O and UV you use? There’s so much information out there it’s overwhelming. I would love to get your advice on this one.

if you go to a hot tub store buy there h020 pool shock it’s normally 28%+ also buy non-chlorinated pool shock and use as instructed 2 to 4 times a month the UV I use is delta E20
