I think the poeple sinking in the sand is because the highest and lowest points of the park area have to much height difference. Maybe try to add multiple smaller ones depending on the terrain height. Not sure though

Or rather more nodes that snap to the terrain elevation. Areas are 3D unlike surfaces, which are 2D

The pig spawners might be fine - but if you put a hang around area around the spawners the animals will stay within the area you put. I believe I saw CPP do that in one of his streams a few months ago. Great Episode - love the farms - they look so natural :)

Great work, been following you for a while. 2 things IMO. 1) The highway slip that exits to the right then loops around and crosses BOTH highways is a very dangerous intersection. If you made the intersection exit left then you'd only have to cross 1 highway. 2) The farm in the middle should have more graineries, at least 4. There's lots of crops around and need somewhere to store them.

Arlow, one of the farmers whose family has been on the island for generations is leaning on the fence, mopping his brow, a piece of grass sticking out of his mouth as he chews it thoughtfully.o "No sirree, bob..." he drawls in a thick, inexplicably West Country Accent. "Sure 'its that ain't no pig farm loike Oi've ever seen. All o' them fences, all that thar fancy 'lectricity. Modern stuff. No place for it on a farm". He continues to look on with a mix of curiosity and disdain. "Nope..." he adds, inhaling deeply as yet another pig is vaporised, watching intently as a small Roomba with thick all-terrain tyres appears out of the ground to hoover up the porky residue. "That ain't no pig farm farm - that there's one of them factories what makes bacon flavouring the them crisps. No doubt about it".

Yea, nice one Egg! I love the farms - next vid can you show us how much production you are getting (I know there a lot of cosmetic fields here) and what impact it is having on industry down the line, i.e. with food factories etc and how its benefiting your imports. Also, there's no train on this map so are you going to just use a local transport around the island or are you staying away from rail? I am building on this map, and I'm wondering about putting a rail link in from idustry to cargo terminal. So far, everything is coming by road, about 3 kms apart. (yes, I built my industry way apart from my town and harbour). Thanks for sharing, as ever!

Oh God, I wished Colossal Order could redo the whole Farm mechanic from scratch, the Specialized Industries for Farmlands show be modified, I unfortunately don't like it, I think the devs didn't risk enough, they added few vegetables, too limited, for a game like Cities Skylines 2, in 2024, I expected a lot, I know there's surfaces and mods, but I'm not really into it when it's just decorations. If you talk with devs again about ideas, please, give them some advices, I have some ideas, actually since the Industries DLC back on CS1, I always thought about it like, why we, the mayor or governor has to make farms? (o _ O ) How I view it, since they didn't think about it, I will suggest what I think it could be more innovative and better for most of the people. I think Farms should be Private Lands, that the maker of the make can do while they create the map and scenarios, and obviously the game should, and definitely needs to have great farm tools and a mechanic where you can make a private zone, and set the type of the district/ zone, and it will have a more realistic looking farms with all the infrastructure it should have, but it has its own upgrades, and the game should have a mechanic that knows the households of the farm who initially bought the farms, and they're going to take care of the farm business, and over time, there should be scenarios on the farm extensions, with it's own roads, empty and untouched fields that though time the householders buy more fields already established in the lands, it could have the trees separating the fields, and all these details, and the game will allow to the farm to grow according to the game pace, it could make things interesting, obviously you don't own the building, but it's private, it makes money for the town folks, which pay taxes and spend of food and other stuff, the farms could even have family villages around it, farmers living closer to them work, and make that farm look authentic as it is, and eventually the player can buy the fields to decrease their sizes, since the urbanization advancement will require it, and these fields have their prices, and land value, the Farmland could upgrade, and the more it gets fields, more advanced and more work force and vehicles will be necessary, the householder owns it and has to administer it. This could be a good way to have scenarios in game, such as farms, functional farmlands, with real property owners, and the way we could profit from it is by buying a percentage of their business, and eventually owning it, and bd able to modify it the way we could like. I don't know if people could like it, but the thing is that we need more vegetables and fruits types, around the world, for more variety, like tomatoes, potatoes, sugarcane, coat, mango, grapes, and other stuff.. this game lacks variation to thongs we can do and how we can do it ... I'm tired of seeing people struggling to make realistic farms without tools to make it and relay on mods forever, I'm so old, and time is going too fast, and I don't see changes, the positive ones 😔
@CrossriderBankai236 ай бұрын
:v I talked and talked and didn't specify anything. I always thought it could be nice if the maps, the map maker having such good tools in the game to create scenarios who will change the way people play the game, instead of a empty map, where you could build anywhere, with square tiles, I always dreamed of maps with land divisions based on three methods, by topography of terrain, land value and private land usage, maybe it's a little complicated, but the scenarios I could like to see is the map have ofc the highways, not the big ones, but simple, national roads from the state, and farmlands in the map, few ones could have a impactful importance to the folks, it could have fields that just bankrupted, or got abandoned so you can buy it and face big problems like having to pay some bills and other stuff, and try to reopen business, renew the farms, mines, fishing docks, and more, not just farms, but all the interest of specialized industries, scenarios of demolished or abandoned mines, which thought time and by enriching the value of the industries you can upgrade and make it bigger needing more workers and infrastructures, just like it it for Transport Fever 2, when you need to plan the logistics and other important stuff. If I remember correctly, in Sim City you plan the city to be a Tourist City, a Industrial Utopia, a Ecology Garden for the health people, or modernized metropoly based on the characteristics of the map based on resources or advantages. And Cities Skylines 2 is missing it, since the meta of the game is that you can do whatever in the map no matter what, you will make everything in one place and there's no consequences or urgency to make changes, because you have the level systems, and everything you get like bonuses and things makes no sense because it's all about XP and bonuses, build this get that, unlock this and boost that, and you can perfectly end a problem in the city.... obviously you can't end traffic issues 💀
