Buy a 4k player and discs. I find the audio is so much better from a disc compared to streaming services, even if the stream is Atmos. I may not be correct but I believe the difference is between a compressed audio track and a full uncompressed audio track, much like audio from a Bluray compared to 4k. I have Ready Player One on both formats, the 4k disk is astoundingly better in it's audio. Atmos placement and separation is noticeable. Get a player.

I love how inspiring these videos are. So thank you and to those who put their stuff on this channel. It can’t be easy for some people to put their stuff out there for the world to see. Since everyone is critical of their own work and sees things they would like to change. It’s inspiring to see these labours of love. Unfortunately for me, it has been a dream for a few years. Me and my partner got our first house, but having had a second child a few months ago and the UK’s crippling cost of living. It will still be a bit of a pipe dream for a while. I still like to watch these and get ideas and I’ve already got a list of beginner things, like starting with a BenQ W2700 projector and a few Monitor Audio in wall speakers. I still need to join discord. Thanks again. 😊

Great thoughts about budgeting. I think this is a hobby of very diminishing returns after a certain point. The Epson LS1200 gives a great image for a great price, and in many respects it's hard to go much above that (although I did buy a JVC NP5 for the black levels, the NZ7 was not worth it for me). Processors I think are another great place to save, a Denon x3800H can do 7.4.4 and now will soon even have Dirac. That makes the Anthem cost less worthwhile. Like in my other comment, I really do think the screen is your audio problem. Do some research on that, look at Gene's videos on testing his SI screen. It was ballsy taking a loan out on this. I just can't fathom taking a loan out for my hobby but I know a lot of people do so not busting your chops there. I love your honesty and openness watching this video and I think the fact that you are new to the hobby actually ADDS to the value of the video because you have that fresh perspective and haven't been tainted by years of nerding out on forums.

I love you room, But if your home theater expert is telling you " You need to buy an Amp " He isn't that great. That MRX 1140 is more then enough power to run your speakers. ( unless you want to add more channels, if you do that, buying a cheap power amp will give you that without breaking the bank ). Great room as always :D

My comment will likely get some hate, but I honestly don't think Bowers and Wilkins speakers match well with Anthem. In my opinion they both have a slightly forward sound which when paired together is a bit too much of a good thing. I believe something like the new Marantz Cinema 40 receiver (due for release early next year) would be more than capable for your current set up and would be a much better sonic match. Marantz typically leans towards a warmer overall presentation which works far better with B&W in my opinion.

Brian, your room inspired me to start my 'Fav Home Theatre' playlist! The practical and mid-century simplicity aesthetic, attention to detail and how you encompass your desires in entertainment (not just is what I appreciate most about your room. "The screen will be the hero" is a phrase I will borrow moving forward. I used to collect LOTS of memorabilia. My life-long passion for cinema and audio/visual entertainment took a back seat. But I've been working on my mental game which turned things around for my whole life and interests, including my passion for the theatre! I've made a complete change and have a very minimal aesthetic with textures, colour and comfort. Watching your room on Tony's channel continues to inspire my goals for creating a sleek, comfortable home theatre. Thanks for coming back and explaining in fuller detail what we're wondering about your room! Side question: what's the drink you're enjoying in this video?

I had a 5.1 "Home Theater" but during covid i decided to do a real "Home Theater " so the first thing I bought was 4 McIntosh amplifier first was the 611 for the center channel then the 462 for the towers then 2 more for the 4 ceiling speakers and the back and sides. The SVS PB16 Ultra. After that I bought the Sony projector added some more speakers. Next get better speakers and all the chairs and decorations.

Great video! Very informative and a BEAUTIFUL result! I went to the posted cost breakdown, thank you for sharing! It's really helpful to be able to have some street pricing to contrast what you're seeing on the market. I am curious, the Valencia seating, came in at $3,500 for 6 chairs? Everything I've seen from Valencia is about $1,100 and up per chair? The two cuddle chairs alone I bought were nearly $5000 for both including ottoman and accessories.

I hope he reads this. The boxy sound is probably your screen. Screen Innovations was tested by Audioholics and has awful acoustic transparency. Switch to a SeymourAV UF screen. Do that before buying any amps. There is your opportunity to go bigger plus fix the sound issue.

@commanderrussels2612 Жыл бұрын
@@brianckaufman Anytime man. You have a great room, I just don't think buying an amp would be a great use of money. The SeymourAV screens aren't too expensive, a UF screen is like 2 grand for 150" with the 3" frame. If you want to stick with the thinner frame then it's a bit more. That's cheaper than an amp and my hunch is it would make a bigger difference in the sound.
