This is a slightly raised built-in bed that is going over a bulkhead in the bedroom created by the staircase below. The main bed structure is built-in using pine & the bed side frame is made with Beech, sprayed with PU lacquer using a Devilbiss FLG5 spraygun & Bostitch 50L compressor. There's four doors in the side frame hung on cabinet door hinges for access to storage space under the bed, a raised platform/top at the bottom of the bed for lamps etc. The shelf unit that goes at the head of the bed, I used a Makita cordless plunge saw with a TSO PRODUCTS GSR-16 PE V2 Parallel Edge Guide Rail Adaptor that cuts the boards square, I then used a Dewalt biscuit jointer to join the boards.

Looks good, it’s like a giant jigsaw puzzle, it’s great to watch someone go onto site and build on the fly, a rough plan in your mind but apart from that go with the flow to frame out 👌👌👌👍👍👍🇦🇺

Thanks 👍 Yep I did draw it in CAD but in reality the walls etc aren't mm perfectly level n flat so that drawing was more for the client + the plan changed slightly more than once, Basically I had the length of the mattress that is a fairly standard size, width of mattresses come in various sizes so we got one that fit within the width up to the window (that didn't get delivered till the end of the build), the rest I had to make as close to the clients wishes as I could. 🤷‍♂️😂 I like building unusual things & there's always a bit of make it up as you go .. 👍

Thankyou, much appreciated 👍 Yep never that easy, & yes although I upload these to share what I know, I'm a modest man but I guess I must be confident about the quality of my work otherwise I wouldn't show it to the world 😊 Thanks again 👍

So we 'Finally' get to see all your 'Prep' work put together 🤪. Have you got yourself a laser level Gid? I find it invaluable when it comes to levels on different walls. I put some pictures up for a lady a few months ago and was very insistent that they were all at the same height.

Yes finally 👍 & yes 4 (5) laser levels, 2 Dewalt, one a Dewalt DW088 green that got upgraded to Dewalt DCE089D1G green, I also have a STABILA LAX 300 G green that has a finer line than the Dewalts. For outside or bigger stuff I have a STABILA LAR160G Green Rotating Laser + tripod. & somewhere in the shed is a older but still working Stabila one line red laser that must be 20yrs+ old. Laser lines can be 5mm thick so you're always trying to mark the same centre all round, it's not easy to put the line exactly where you want it so you have to mount it as close as & measure off the line. A bubble level is much more accurate & easy to use for something like this. In my Debs Alcove vids I did a similar thing where I wanted both alcove cupboard tops to be the same height so I used the laser for that. .
