Near an exact year from the time I got it. Yanked apart, close to fully built, and back to running and driving status. Still need injectors, map sensor, and a fuel pump before I can tune.

So I have a question I Locked Vtec in A D17A1 head using d17a2 Valve train and Cam. Was planning on running this without a tune or adjustable Cam gear is the WISE??. Everything is stock on the car has a1 ecu, Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Pointless. Locking vtec does nothing to gain power. The reason its popular for k series is because the cam towers are all identical and swappable between the heads allowing you to use the MUCH larger vtec cams on the base model. The stock true vtec cams are even bigger than the base model aftermarket cam. Use the channel. Details are here

Thank you for your speedy reply Something that confused me is, the a2 cam has more lift 38mm and duration compared to lift of 35mm of the A1 cam I'm planning on getting Software and a tuner to do it myself eventually would it be safe to run in the meantime?. It's a fresh rebuilt motor, I Rebuild engines for fun but have no clue how to tune them or make power.

Need a fuel pump, map sensor, and injectors. It's good for 650hp but the clutch is sketchy. Expect to make mid to high 400's
