As a UX Researcher, I've gotta say Figma is such a blessing. When I worked with UX Designers, the discussions about design intent and testing is SO flexible because of how malleable Figma is.

I commend your ability to reinvent yourself. Frequently, we believe the misconception that we must have everything sorted out before taking action. There's no need for a detailed roadmap or a fixed direction; you simply have to be open to moving forward and sometimes failing backwards.

With the cost of living in NY being so crazy, do you think you could accomplish everything you're shooting for in another city? Or is being in NY and being in that creative culture and fast paced city part of what motivates you?
@Bukola1
@Bukola1 10 ай бұрын
It would be easier in a different city, cost of living here is crazy 😭but it’s easier for me because expenses are shared with my partner …. But living nyc is motivating, even walking around it’s inspiring to see what humans have created and you are also surrounded by people who are striving

Wait, you do all this during work hours, that freely? ... I'm a Ux/UI designer and my boss is on me the whole day, lol, I feel like maybe it is just the company I work for because I see other UX/UI on youtube who seem to be way more free during work hours than I have ever been at this job, maybe it is time to work for a different company lol..

My co-founders & I are still early with out app/platform, moving towards our prototype. Can I ask, what framework you're using to do the coding for your app? No worries if you're keeping that info to yourself.

Honestly I think you should reveal the app, because ideas are cheap and what makes any business succeed is the implementation. Also, being transparent is good to validate your idea and know upfront if anyone would pay for it. Also, having competitions is good because it improves your product and make you learn from your competitors.

Until another big company runs with her idea and has more money to invest in marketing. They don't even have to improve the app/product. Them being able to invest more could be her downfall.
@flaviomoreira01
@flaviomoreira01 10 ай бұрын
@@misshoneynevercame4832 It's possible but it very unlikely because big companies are less flexible when it comes to pivoting and making decisions in general. It would hurt even more if you build it,lunch it and they take then them just taking the idea

Hi Bukola! I love your videos/vlogs so much! Will you be making a part 2 video about your trip to Japan? (Maybe about Kyoto) Ive watched your shorts on the topic but I really prefer the long videos. 😆 I have so many questions about the trip. Did you have people staring at you? Was it hard to navigate around town or did you have a guide? How much money would you recommend for someone else taking a week long trip there? I always wanted to visit but I'm nervous with how I would be treated being a black woman and all. Thanks! ❤
@Bukola1
@Bukola1 10 ай бұрын
I decided not to make a part 2 since the first video didn't perform well. However, I must say that Kyoto was amazing and I highly recommend visiting! I'm happy to answer any questions you may have. ***Did you have people staring at you?*** Surprisingly, no. I felt like people avoided making eye contact. I think it's culturally taboo for strangers to make eye contact. ***Was it difficult to navigate around the town*** I didn't have a guide, but it was easy to get around using Google Maps. The signs are in English, and there are quite a few people who speak English. Google Translate was also very helpful. ***How much money would you recommend for someone taking a week-long trip?*** Food, activities, and transportation were relatively cheap. The biggest expenses were airfare and hotels. I think you could have a great trip with $3-5K for a week, with airfare and hotels being the largest expenses. ***How would I be treated as a black woman?*** I was treated well! I felt comfortable and safe as a black woman there.
